What a night! Talk about uplifting. It was one of the greatest joys of my career to emcee the TechDiversity Awards this year. The winners included Indigenous-owned social enterprise, Fire and Wattle, Deadly Coders, Uniting NSW.ACT, My QuitBuddy, and Vantari VR. Onward and upward!

Wow! @antoinettelattouf.bsky.social has done a terrific job with this book. It's fearless and funny and incredibly insightful. Women Who Win takes us on a wild ride, celebrating women throughout history who succeeded against the odds. This is the book we need in these troubled times.
About to emcee the 2026 TechDiversity Awards! Good people doing powerful work. 💪🏼
This is very cool. You can now find my audiobook on the global platform @libro.fm This company was specifically founded in opposition to Amazon to counter its growing monopoly. Choose a local bookstore and they get a portion of your purchases.
I find this quite sickening. Of course, the AI labs need quality training data. But destroying millions of books...? "A US judge approved Anthropic’s $1.5bn settlement over pirated books, and ruled that training on purchased, scanned books counts as fair use." thenextweb.com/news/ai-comp...
AI firms are buying old books for slop-free training data
Broker ISBNdb is selling AI labs pre-2022 print books as the last slop-free training data. Scanning them means shredding the books, quietly.

Have you seen The Odyssey yet? OMG - THE PIG SCENE!!! It's an outstanding film, centred on the hubris of man and the folly of war. Christopher Nolan has structured the narrative beautifully, like the epic poem. This release is extremely well timed. Wonder if they'll watch it in the White House?
This is a very good initiative. The Fair AI Taskforce is designed to give workers a say in the use of this technology. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-07...

Labor will respond to growing anxiety about the rise of artificial intelligence with a new taskforce to give Australian workers a greater say in how the technology shapes the nation.

I've spent this weekend thinking about how women and girls spend so much time, mental energy and unpaid labour trying to combat sexism, misogyny and unconscious bias from men and boys in their lives. Not sure whether this should be called 'domestic diplomacy' or 'empathy whispering'. Thoughts?

For nearly 4 decades my work has come down to this question: Who is heard, and who is overlooked? It's at the heart of Man-Made, my book about AI. So, when Tech Diversity asked me to host their awards night, the answer was easy. Just a few tickets remain: tech-diversity.com.au/techdiversit...
