Hey King County WA folks! Is anyone(s) available to write a letter of support for a Snoqualmie Valley Transportation grant application? I have a sample letter that would need to be tailored to address recreational access offered by rural transit providers. I do not have the bandwidth at the moment.

Even unintentional. I've had a stressful week, for reasons, & so an extra-full/distracted brain, so quite a few occasions that I did weird things/didn't see stuff/ that normally I'd never miss. Been thinking a lot about what if I was driving in that state and how easy it would be to cause damage.

I'm not an alarmist person but I don't think the World Cup is the only time someone might want to do a lot of damage by driving through a crowd at Pike Place Market and I think the infrastructure should reflect that reality.

Woot! You can now RSVP for this #WeekWithoutDriving outing, with Transit Trekker and King County Parks. We'll enjoy the trip and also talk about the barriers we need to remove to put much more outdoor recreation in easy reach for nondrivers. transittrekker.com/2026wwdmaury...

Join me for a #WeekWithoutDriving event. Pencil in Oct. 1 check back for RSVP link & more details on this trip audit, enjoying one of King County's most beautiful park complexes that could be a beacon of transit-accessible recreation with just a little help! transittrekker.com/2026/08/03/w...

We are happy to report that the tracks north of Portland are opening! Tomorrow, on August 19, all Amtrak Cascades trains resume normal service, except Train 500 which will resume on Thursday, August 20. Let your summer travel plans resume. We’ll drive! 💚🤎🤍

A lightly cloud-filtered blue sky is reflected in the water of Puget Sound in this photograph as an Amtrak Cascades train glides along the shore next to a hillside covered heavily by evergreen trees. Some of the San Juan Islands can be seen in the distance as the sun peeks through from the top center of the image.

YES IT WAS THE BEST THING ABOUT ZION AMONG MANY BEST THINGS AND I DO NOT KNOW WHY ALL THE POPULAR PARKS DON'T HAVE IT! Bryce ALSO had a shuttle system (but didn't block out cars). I have no idea why other parks don't have them. Like parking at Yellowstone was hell but no other options.

This is my way to hit the trails! I've been on one of these and it was terrific fun! Sign up now! The best way to kick off #weekwithoutdriving

No word about whether the Wahkiakum Ferry allows livestock like the Guemes Ferry, but treats may be available to pets! "We do allow pets to ride on the ferry so long as they are restrained by a leash. Crew will give treats to the pet as well if the owner allows."

A theme here is that if a person inside city government intervenes on behalf of a restaurant losing parking spots or a random driver getting a parking ticket, that's seen as constituent services. If another government insider works on behalf of keeping people alive, that's seen as advocacy.

A public records request reveals how @mayorwu.boston.gov's election-year "review" of transportation projects created a duplicate layer of authority inside City Hall that fomented confusion and stalled urgent safety initiatives: mass.streetsblog.org/2026/07/22/f...
