Interesting developments in NJ 11 special election primary. NJ is a closed primary state. When all mail ins and provisionals are counted, it looks like 65,000 democrats will have voted. By comparison, 2024’s democratic primary turned out about 52,000.

This is the first paragraph of a book written for young people that gives an overview of the #CivilWar. In a section titled “Why Did We Fight the Civil War?” to not include the word slavery is completely absurd and a disservice to any young person who wants to learn more about US history.

Adelita Grijalva will be sworn in the day Mikie Sherrill resigns from Congress after winning her governor’s race. On the plus side, it should prevent Trump from interfering in the race. He needs Sherrill to win and resign to block the release of the Epstein files

Just saw a car with a Tulsi 2020 sticker on it. Doesn’t get much worse than that. Although it could be worth a lot of money as there can’t be more than 10 of those on the whole planet

Bellwether gubernatorial election in NJ coming up in November. Voted in primary day today. One of a strong stable of established democrats will likely face normal republican turned Trump shill, Jack Ciattarelli who lost to current governor, Phil Murphy in a closer than expected race in 2021.

I had multiple 7th graders tell me today they’d be ok with the president having control over what social media apps are allowed in the U.S. One said “the president gets millions of votes so he can do what he wants.” They’re still learning democracy but their instinct is to be led by a strongman

So #TikTok is now dark. Tomorrow, Trump will grant a 90 day extension to the sale deadline and magically on day 89, a deal will happen. And Trump will be the savior of TikTok and hero to young people even though he tried to ban it through executive order in his first term. Trump wins again
