I stayed out late last night playing commander with new people. Played Talrand and Angry Birds. I lost both games but haven't laughed that hard in a hot minute. I got to wax poetic about old border foils and bad cards in EDH being the best way to play with one of they guys.

My indifference towards Magic lately has really been showing. I'm struggling to find the joy in it anymore. I get Itty bitty little sparks of "oh this could be neat" and they get snuffed out pretty quick. Unsure if it's burnout or if I'm just really enjoying other things. But boi am I tired

After finding Lammastide Weave the other day, I can't stop thinking about what it could do in a DanDan variant with Reclaim and Noxios Rev. I think I wanna give Putrid Leech it's time back in the sun 🤔👀 I think learning when to be aggressive and press the button is very interesting.

Played my first multiplayer games of Riftbound tonight with some of the chill peeps from the LGS that always have good vibes. Won the first one 😊 Forced a draw on the second 🤣 This game is so good. And making new friends in your 30s feels cool 🥹

Feels weird to work in a place that's 50% nerdy coworkers but still get shit on for being a card gamer. Everyone else gets to talk about their games in peace but I talk Magic with the one other MTG player in the room and it's time to dunk on the über nerds 🙄

Call me weird, but I think the joy of DanDan coming from the fact that the only creatures are the fish, that modifying their P/T is largely not the point, and that the math adds up to 5 turns if you don't deal with it is entirely the charm of the format, and something that other spins on DanDan miss
