The file is “secret,” but the target is clear: journalism. On June 13, five journalists’ homes in Istanbul were raided under a confidential investigation. With a secrecy order in place, the charges remain unknown. Now, our colleagues are sent to court for arrest! #journalistsdetainedonsecretfile
Cypriot journalist @aysemden.bsky.social has received NO protection for 45DAYS even though: ▪️ Cemil Önal, whom she interviewed, was murdered in the Netherlands. ▪️ The murder wasn’t properly investigated or assailants identified. Let us repeat once more LOUD AND CLEAR: #ProtectAysemden!

Cypriot journalist @aysemden.bsky.social was threatened on April 30th. The following day a key person she interviewed was killed. This was an extensive interview containing serious allegations on mafia activities and connections both in Cyprus and Turkey. One month on, still no protection!
