A faceoff between two Hatsune Miku variations and a theropod dinosaur from their respective countries of origin. The original Hatsune Miku has a Fukuiraptor kitadaniensis, while Brazilian Miku has the much larger and stronger Irritator challengeri.

Hatsune Miku as an Anomalocaris on the prowl, with bright turquoise claws, a grey body and side fins, and bright turquoise rear fins, along with magenta compound eyes and a 01 tattoo on her carapace. Nearby, Kagamine Len as an Ottoia worm is hiding behind a rock in fear.

Morning folks! Yesterday I went to Fan Expo, it was a blast! Here's my haul from the event (plus a trilobite fossil I forgot to include), and this opossum I saw at the train station (first time I've ever seen one irl).

A bunch of things I got from Fan Expo. A Blokees Miku model kit, a figurine of Steve from Minecraft, two Bakugan (a Pyrus Trox and Aqua Kodokor), and the Pokecology book.

Just got back from seeing The End of Oak Street, I thought it was great! For my further thoughts, see the alt text of these images (HEAVY SPOILER WARNING).

I love it when dinosaurs and prehistoric animals wreak havoc in human towns, especially if the town is transplanted into the past (see SCP-4003, one of my favourite articles and one I highly recommend if you liked this movie, the film reminded me of it), because being stranded in the past with slim chances of returning to your own time just adds to the despair.

I was legitimately worried whether the family would be able to get back to their own time, but honestly I was glad they managed to save everybody, even if it was kind of a copout - though part of me wished they'd unearth fossils of the pets, buildings and trucks left behind.

The dinos and other critters look great, although I was a little disappointed that Spino (what's a Cretaceous Egyptian dinosaur doing in Jurassic Michigan anyway?) still looks like the JP3 version, but I can overlook it. The Allo was great, so were the nondescript theropods menacing the townsfolk, and I love the idea of sauropods having shaggy feathers, even if it has no paleontological basis.

Overall? Despite some anachronisms with the animals seen and some other minor nitpicks, it's a great popcorn fun creature feature with dinosaurs in it and I found it a blast to watch. Would recommend!

If there's a Brazilian Miku, I figured there oughta be a Brazilian Calne Ca too! Instead of a robot, she's a Mapinguari, a Brazilian cryptid somewhat similar to Bigfoot. #hatsunemiku #brazilianmiku #vocaloid

Brazilian Calne Ca. She resembles Brazilian Miku, except missing the sunglasses, her shirt says "CA" on the front instead of 01 or having the Brazil flag, her lower jaw is missing and her upper jaw has several prominent sharp fangs, she has a single eye that is gold in colour, a fanged mouth on her stomach, and brown highlights in her hair; additionally, her legs are backwards, and her extremities are covered in shaggy brown hair with teal highlights, with three large sloth claws on each of them. Her right arm is much larger than the left one.

Some doodles of Brazilian Calne Ca with explanations. She has a single eye on her left, she is friends with the animals of the rainforest and sings them songs, and she has no tolerance for loggers and poachers who enter her forest, demonstrated with an oblivious Len using a chainsaw to cut a tree while Brazilian Ca looms threateningly over him.

Some more fake Astromon lines for Monster Super League (normals on the left, Variants on the right). Based on Audrey Jr. from the original (and public domain!) Little Shop of Horrors movie from the 60s, and Japanese urban legends, respectively. #monstersuperleague

Buddy, Audrey Jr. and Audrey Sr., three fan-made Astromons for Monster Super League. Buddy and Audrey Jr. resemble green plant bulbs where the bulb resembles jaws lined with sharp teeth, and walk around on their roots. Audrey Sr. resembles a green-skinned, green-haired plant woman in a green dress surrounded by flower petals, appearing out of the plant bulb's jaws.

Variants of the aforementioned line, with the bulb-jaws and Audrey Sr.'s dress now being red in colour.

Wriggal, Snippette and Hachishaku, three fan-made Astromons for Monster Super League. The first two resemble a young girl with a scarf flowing like smoke or a ghost's tail that obscures their mouths and a long purple coat. Snippette in specific has a large pair of scissors used as a weapon. Hachishaku then has a large sun hat that obscures her eyes, high heels, and her scarf resembles a fur scarf.

Variants of the previous line, who now have beige scarves and black coats (and a black hat, in Hachishaku's case).

Sam Neill is best known for playing Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park. Without Jurassic Park, I wouldn't have been as big of a paleonerd as I am today. Thus, I felt not drawing some manner of tribute would be criminal, in light of the news.

Heard the news about Sam Neill. Honestly really hurts, and not just because I loved Jurassic Park when I was little and it turned me into a lifelong paleonerd. It's also the fact that he just came out of beating cancer. Granted, apparently it wasn't the cause, but still... to overcome one obstacle-

It's been a bit quiet on my end for a bit, and there's a reason for that: I was getting ready for Artfight! This is my very first Artfight, and for now I'm focusing on revenges and mutuals, but I do plan to get to other OCs too. So far I already revenged twice. Hope to see you there!

Some fake Astromons for Monster Super League! Orrin, Orthok and Orthacle are counterparts to Mona, Monak and Monarch, who are orthocone-themed wizards as opposed to the Mona line being ammonite-themed Amazons. #monstersuperleague #msl #art

A trio of fan-made Monster Super League Astromons. Orrin is a shy young wizard boy with blue hair, a blue robe and a conical green orthocone shell hat, Orthok is a confident teenage wizard that also has blue hair and a green orthocone hat, as well as a blue cloak and an orthocone shell wand, and finally, Orthacle is an old wizard with sky blue hair and a beard, and a long dark green robe. His orthocone hat is now longer and striped with blue and green, and his wand is now much larger, serving as a staff/walking stick. These are the Water element variations.
