My power washer won't start. Add it to the pile. 2 dead ceiling fans, garage door, clothes dryer, sink disposal, a/c capacitor, and now power washer. And it isn't an electrical issue eating things. Just old things dying.

This. Many many people do not understand how computers actually work. "AI" can't to rogue an escape because it's running on extremely specialized equipment! Real life isn't cyberpunk!
Pwnallthethings@pwnallthethings.bsky.social · 3d agoSo the risks is not zero, but the scifi idea that the AI is going to just escape and go live in some autonomous collective lost in the internet somewhere comes from over-indexing on watching a lot of scifi movies; it's not especially grounded in what these systems actually are in the near-term.
AI is the future, can we please not talk about it in the work thought.

This is why I don't like friendslop or any other slop title on hand made things. Slop is automated.
