Lakeside Beach, Chimney Bluffs, Fair Haven, Sandy Island, Wescott Beach, Sackets Harbor... Those are six NYS Parks I've visited along the shore of Lake Ontario.

Hudson Valley. Road-trip taker, travel-goal chaser: NPS (57/63 | 243/433); NYS parks (110); MLB (30/30 + SABR member), MiLB (66/120), & NFL (32/32) stadiums; ski areas (69); beer; Americana. And STM publishing
Likewise 100% agree. I wrote my senators last year when some of other NPS dismantling/defunding was taking place and wrote them again now. I was in Big Bend in 2016, during all the "build a wall and make Mexico pay" rhetoric. There was no need at all for one then and sure isn't now. #ParkChat
Agree 100%. #ParkChat. Just went less than two years ago. Imagine a wall here at the Rio Grande. There absolutely no need for a wall here except to fulfill the Administration’s corruption goals.
Had the pleasure of caddying for him in the 1980s. Super friendly guy. Always one of my favorites. RIP, Tommy John. 😔
I saw Tommy John pitch many games at Dodger Stadium both pre and post his famous surgery. And here’s the thing - not only was he a terrific pitcher - he was always a class act. Always. Sorry he’s gone…
"Maybe" turned into "If you know me at all", I'm at my 132nd ballpark, watching the Lake County Captains host the South Bend Cubs
If my numbers are right, I've seen a ballgame (MLB, MiLB, or Indy League) in 131 ballparks. I'll be doing repeat visits to two of them this month, and maybe...just maybe...could start next month in my 132nd...
Listening to some at #SABR54 talk about their crazy/impressive ballgame numbers, I tried estimating mine: Current MLB= 44 Repeats = 10 Yankees = 5 Old: Yankees ~40 Shea ~10 Other repeats ~3? MiLB ~80? HV ~50? Trenton/Somerset ~10 SWB ~8 Brooklyn/SI= 6 Other repeats=~7 Indy= ~8 So 250-275
The rumors are true! Next year’s SABR convention will be in Birmingham, Alabama! This means if MLB happens to be shut down for a work stoppage it won’t affect conference activities. (Rickwood Field is on my bucket list!)
Oh, come on: SABR friends in Cleveland, who's pulling the handle??
First pitch in Milwaukee. Cool to be back after 25 years, but damn is it hot here 🥵 Go Brewers!

Just flipped over to fetv. "Emergency" is on. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid. RIP, Randolph Mantooth.
1. My 1st flight was to: SEA 2. My last flight was to: SAN 3. My next flight is to: MKE 4. My longest flight: JFK > DEL 5. My shortest flight: JNU > GST Copy and paste to your page
So, my Yankees, Giants and now the Knicks have won a title this century--and since I joined social media. Now if only the Rangers could win the cup that'd be sweet, but that feels years away...
If you see this, post your getaway vehicle.

I went out this morning wearing a Knicks hat and a National Park T shirt (and shorts 😂) Can't say when I last wore stuff that generated more conversations and fist bumps--w/ folks I knew and strangers. Had some good National Park chats and a bunch of "Go Knicks" excitement. Not a bad morning at all.
Sean Connery, I think. Or Jim McKay. Met a lot of celebrities while caddying on Long Island country club in the early 80s. Forgot who I met first.
Who was the first celebrity you ever saw in person...?! How old were you?! I'm trying to remember my SECOND one, and I can't. The first one is shared with the sisters, which is how this even came up. 😭😭😭
Let's go, Knicks! Let's go, Knicks! Also, Happy National Repeat Day.
Introduce yourself with 10 bands you've seen live: The Who Pink Floyd The Kinks Jethro Tull Robert Plant Neil Young Moody Blues Rush Dire Straits U2
Introduce yourself with 10 bands you've seen live: Beatles Moby Grape John Mayall Ten Years After (front row seats) Led Zeppelin (didn't see much, was on a hill above the aquatheater where they played, sound was fab) James Cotton Joe Bonamassa Tedeschi-Trucks Band Sting Billy Strings (twice)
Best spam text ever! My BBQ in NY stinking up whoever's home in OR. 😄
Ok, I've registered for the SABR conference! I'll see some of you there..
Hey Xfinity, as if the frequent outages these last two days while you perform "upgrades" aren't annoying enough, I sure didn't need one of your service trucks putting 10-ft tire ruts in my lawn while doing a 3-pt turn.
Yankee fan and John Sterling fan here. I guess my favorite thing with him was when a rookie or new player on the team hit a home run and wondering what he'd come up with. Sure, some calls were better than others, but most every one made me at least smile. #NYY
Work brought me to North Carolina, and that let me check off another new ballpark) in the inaugural season for the Wilson Warbirds no less) and a new NPS site... Back to conference mode...
This Wednesday @naturetechfam.bsky.social and I take another shot at celebrating the 12th Anniversary of #ParkChat with a presentation on “Park Quests” via #ParkChat. Some questions will be what you might expect, some definitely won’t be. Regardless we think you’ll have fun. Please join us.
