Hudson Valley. Road-trip taker, travel-goal chaser: NPS (57/63 | 243/433); NYS parks (110); MLB (30/30 + SABR member), MiLB (66/120), & NFL (32/32) stadiums; ski areas (69); beer; Americana. And STM publishing

Lakeside Beach, Chimney Bluffs, Fair Haven, Sandy Island, Wescott Beach, Sackets Harbor... Those are six NYS Parks I've visited along the shore of Lake Ontario.

Likewise 100% agree. I wrote my senators last year when some of other NPS dismantling/defunding was taking place and wrote them again now. I was in Big Bend in 2016, during all the "build a wall and make Mexico pay" rhetoric. There was no need at all for one then and sure isn't now. #ParkChat

Agree 100%. #ParkChat. Just went less than two years ago. Imagine a wall here at the Rio Grande. There absolutely no need for a wall here except to fulfill the Administration’s corruption goals.

Listening to some at #SABR54 talk about their crazy/impressive ballgame numbers, I tried estimating mine: Current MLB= 44 Repeats = 10 Yankees = 5 Old: Yankees ~40 Shea ~10 Other repeats ~3? MiLB ~80? HV ~50? Trenton/Somerset ~10 SWB ~8 Brooklyn/SI= 6 Other repeats=~7 Indy= ~8 So 250-275

The rumors are true! Next year’s SABR convention will be in Birmingham, Alabama! This means if MLB happens to be shut down for a work stoppage it won’t affect conference activities. (Rickwood Field is on my bucket list!)

If my numbers are right, I've seen a ballgame (MLB, MiLB, or Indy League) in 131 ballparks. I'll be doing repeat visits to two of them this month, and maybe...just maybe...could start next month in my 132nd...

So, my Yankees, Giants and now the Knicks have won a title this century--and since I joined social media. Now if only the Rangers could win the cup that'd be sweet, but that feels years away...

I went out this morning wearing a Knicks hat and a National Park T shirt (and shorts 😂) Can't say when I last wore stuff that generated more conversations and fist bumps--w/ folks I knew and strangers. Had some good National Park chats and a bunch of "Go Knicks" excitement. Not a bad morning at all.

Hey Xfinity, as if the frequent outages these last two days while you perform "upgrades" aren't annoying enough, I sure didn't need one of your service trucks putting 10-ft tire ruts in my lawn while doing a 3-pt turn.

Yankee fan and John Sterling fan here. I guess my favorite thing with him was when a rookie or new player on the team hit a home run and wondering what he'd come up with. Sure, some calls were better than others, but most every one made me at least smile. #NYY

Work brought me to North Carolina, and that let me check off another new ballpark) in the inaugural season for the Wilson Warbirds no less) and a new NPS site... Back to conference mode...
