A11 Get more art into the visitor center stores (usually run by a park partner association)...i.e. cards with local artists painting something in the park. I always buy local artist cards at parks and it seems some parks have minimal to none in their stores. #ParkChat

Q8 #parkchat From sculptures & dioramas, to visitor education center informational movies, & symphonies on the prairie, the arts are usually well-represented but are the oft-overlooked component of the visitor experience in our parklands. How can these experiences be better highlighted by our parks?

Q7 #parkchat. In the dining room of the Old Faithful Inn I have to stop & stare at the stunning painting of Old Faithful by Paco Young. Is there a piece of art in a national park that captivated you, made your jaw drop, put a tear in your eye? Tell us about that art & why it grabbed your attention.

Q6 #parkchat. One of the expectations for most artist-in-residence programs in the nat’l parks is that the artist will be demonstrating and/or out in the field (plein air) interpreting the park through their specialty art-form. What is the most unique art you’ve ever encountered in a national park?

A1b: We had a wonderful art history tour of Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton NP, given by a very knowledgeable guide named Rainy. There's a lot of art on display there, such as the realistic wildlife paintings by Carl Runglas & the huge Rendezvous Murals painted by Carl Roters. #ParkChat

A3 #ParkChat (late from Fl after Mateo’s bedtime walk) I met an artist doing the sketch for a coin at St. Gaudens in NH. A very different but interesting site.

Q5 #parkchat. The most frequent visitor question I got during my residencies in Yellowstone was, “Where’s the restroom?” 🤣 Think about your own experience in the parks. What question do you find yourself asking most often when you visit? What sorts of things do you most want to know about a park?
