To be clear- this is catastrophic for radio astronomy, not just in the UK. If you shut down a facility like this not only do we use access to the facility, dozens (hundreds?) of jobs are gone and with it expertise that never comes back. Please write to your MP if you’re in the UK! 🔭🧪🎢

Realising to my shock that those grainy DALL-E2 images from 2022 are now digital hauntology. I remember “robocop with a choc Ice”- but dont remember if “insane clown posse at a petting zoo” was something I saw or imagined.

The most annoying thing about AI-constructed paragraphs is the way they end with a sentence summarising the previous paragraph and a comparison to something completely unrelated. That’s not authoritative writing, it’s an emulation of authoritative writing via the introducion of non-sequiturs.

I’ve been listening f Depeche Mode’s delta machine album from 2013. Rather sweetly my mum gave it to me as a birthday present then, continuing a long tradition of parents gifting me DM CDs. I know it isn’t liked by fans- is this because of the song “the child inside“ which is quite dark?
