Politics, backpacking, travel, photography, & all-purpose snark. Looks like I picked the wrong election year to quit sniffing glue

It's a minor thing (counterpoint: precision in language is never a minor thing) but it bugs me when somebody says (as Jeffries did recently) that Social Security/Medicare "aren't entitlements, they're earned benefits". That's...what entitlement means, in this context.

One more interesting point: this spring I sat down with Sharyn Alfonsi of 60 Minutes for an extensive interview about my Epstein investigation. Subsequently, CBS pulled the segment and fired the reporter. The MAGA buyout of media has unquestionably aided the Trump administration’s cover up here.

Bombshell new report out from my investigators this morning spanning our four year investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s financial records. This report shows exactly how Wall Street protected Epstein and enabled his sex trafficking for decades. Mega thread following with some key points:

Early on those people were saying just let it rip through the population so the survivors acquire "herd immunity", and even after it became clear that people could be infected multiple times--that infection did not bestow immunity *at all*--they were still peddling that stupid shit.

I’ve been writing a counter narrative of shutdowns that has me revisiting media from that time. And let me tell you, the only other option was everybody die. So yeah.

Reminder: one party to a settlement can't unilaterally change the terms of the settlement. This is just more confirmation that the "settlement" was never a settlement at all, and that the "lawsuit" was never a lawsuit, because the "opposing" parties had the same interest from the start.

🚨NEW: Todd Blanche’s new order rescinds the May 18 Anti-Weaponization Fund—but quietly leaves the May 19 IRS immunity settlement intact. Instead of rescinding it, the accompanying memo reaffirms DOJ’s interpretation, arguing the immunity applies only retroactively and only to the parties involved.1/

i have excellent news. you can think what the trump admin is saying about ceuta is incendiary and dehumanizing and vile *AND* still not endorse the idea that it's all being orchestrated by (((zionists))). you can do both! it's allowed!

Virtually EVERY SINGLE time someone says, "Dems haven't done X," a simple Google search will show that, in fact they did, and the speaker was just too lazy to check. Yes, communication is broken. That's a two-way street, always, especially now.
