"If you profit from ill-gotten gains, there are ways to get the money back that are pardon-proof." @amandacarpenter.bsky.social explains how civil disgorgement could be used to claw back money from Trump-era corruption, even when presidential pardons take criminal prosecution off the table.
The biggest reason for the “competitive imbalance” is that the Dodgers are playing world championship level chess and most of the other teams are tanking at checkers.
Trump sued Capital One to prove they closed his accounts over politics. The bank’s answer, filed Friday: it was the anti-money-laundering desk. Months of review. Three hundred accounts. He pulled that thread himself.
Making government work for the people.
The cost of groceries has become one of the defining challenges of the affordability crisis. That's why our municipal grocery stores will offer a 30% discount on the grocery staples New Yorkers depend on — from meat to produce to dairy.
Friendly reminder that these things aren't impacted by closing the Strait of Hormuz so maybe, just maybe, we should implement them to avoid being impacted by future conflicts: -Solar panels -Wind turbines -Battery storage -Electric vehicles -Bicycles -Natural fertilizers -Electric heat pumps
Successfully reawakening the spirit of freedom in America will require rebuilding the American community.
I am happy to announce the release of my first book, The Freedom Principles: America’s Promise at a Crossroads. It’s part memoir and part family history, but it mostly is a discussion and celebration of America’s promise of freedom and democracy. www.amazon.com/dp/B0DK29QGJ9
People want more affordable food, housing and health care, and they want an economy that gives all a fair chance in the pursuit of happiness. Politicians who do not prioritize these goals should not be in power.
Those who claim empathy is weakness are just trying to justify being selfish.
Fairness is the foundation of a free society. We are all created equal in the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It’s great that Trump released a bunch of documents confirming that the 2020 election wasn’t stolen and that the most brazen foreign interference in our elections was Putin working to elect Trump. Now release the fully un-redacted Epstein files.
Democrats will not defeat Republicans by acting like Republicans.
-A living wage -Guaranteed healthcare -The right to join a union -The right to vote -The right to choose when, how, and with whom you start a family -The right for you and your family to live free from gun violence Remember: These are the foundations of real freedom.
250 years later, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is still our promise of freedom. Now more than ever, we need a government devoted to securing that promise for all.

The same Democratic leaders who lost the White House, the Senate & House, the Supreme Court and a majority of governorships are telling progressive Democrats pushing for change to shut up because they know best how to win. Once again: Dems don't have an identity crisis, we have a leadership crisis!
Coming from the most corrupt Administration in American history, this is an honor I'll treasure forever.
Celebrating Pride Nights at sporting events is one hundred percent consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Apparently, unconditional surrender is the art of the deal.
Sunday fact: Russia has sustained at least 1.4 million casualties in the war with Ukraine. In fact, that’s 50 percent more than the US in all of WW2 on two fronts liberating and occupying the world. Russia now controls less land than they had one month into the invasion. Slava Ukrainii!
A government of lies and corruption is not a government that stands for freedom.
Of course he loves inflation. It’s great for the billionaire class.
If we’re going to have an actual free market economy, then we need a serious dose of Democratic Socialism.
Trump wants Congress to "expunge" his impeachments from the historical record. There's just one problem: history doesn't work that way. A vote can't erase what happened. It can't erase January 6th. And it can't erase the record future generations will read. open.substack.com/pub/adamkinz...
Trump Wants His Impeachments Erased. History Doesn't Work That Way.

YES. WOW!! Thank you, @petebuttigieg.bsky.social advocating for ADDING SEATS to the Supreme Court because term limits don't go far enough. THIS is what will get my vote in 2028. No good law passed will survive this rogue Supreme Court.
Buttigieg: Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that there have to be nine Supreme Court justices. That one doesn't even take a constitutional amendment. It just takes a readiness to set up a court that fits this country.
