A European capital city, in a country that's an ally of NATO, spent this morning retrieving bodies, saving the wounded, grieving, & despairing at the US in particular for giving Russia the green light to murder when it wishes. Day 1624. Is the fight for good vs evil abandoned?

Hello again, on Day 1623 of the full invasion of Ukraine. Every single day I've compiled a thread of the news stories, updated throughout the day (and often night too) When I finished the previous thread in the middle of this night, more things were exploding inside Russia!

Here comes another thread covering all things Ukraine (and Russia) Day 1622 of the war on freedom, democracy, culture, a nation and its people. Those long range strikes are surely starting to hurt Russia. Let's catch up:

Day 1621 of Ukraine's battle for survival. This is the 55th month in which the Ukrainians have had to defend their territory, language, literature, culture and freedom. Russia though is also feeling the realities of war. This is the daily thread.

As a new month begins, the skies are still light, but the soul is heavy. The darkness of Russia's collective character is evident wherever it treads, wherever it spreads murder, hate, colonial neo-nazism. It's Day 1620 of this💩in🇺🇦 And I've made a daily thread every one of 'em!

Day 1619 of Ukraine being forced to fight for its freedom, its very existence. Of course the war had been going on for 12 years and, having been a very small part of EuroMaidan, I don't forget that. But only since 2022 has the threat become existential. Here's Friday's daily🧵

Tim's instincts are right. Remember ZAPAD-2025? NATO responded with >50K soldiers in a month-long series of military exercises. Russia's MO is deception. It used the cover of ZAPAD-2025 to probe. See Poland: From the 🔍 Hybrid War Tracker Handbook: tny.lv/iZIH0

It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that this whole attack by Russia was purely to send a missile into Poland to make it look like an accident. But NATO will know it isn't. It's a test to see the reaction, both on the night and the follow-up. bsky.app/profile/twmc...

A few other interesting details: it also flew near the 18th Anti-Aircraft Regiment, located north of Zamość. It crashed approximately 40 km from Świdnik (a helicopter manufacturer) and 50 km from Stalowa Wola (where, among other things, KRAB self-propelled guns are produced).

OK, no break - here we go again with a brand new thread on Day 1618 of Russia's insane and inhumane war on its peaceful neighbour. I appear to be only midway through reporting a big multi-missile attack on Ukraine by Putin's criminal horde. So let's continue..

Hello on Day 1617 The war continues in Ukraine with renewed optimism in the Zelenskyy camp after what's seen as a successful trip to the U.S. But will it transform into any tangible help in preserving Ukraine's freedom and defeating evil, or another empty promise. Here's the🧵

It's an important time politically, with President Zelenskyy in the US and due to hear Trump's latest plans to stop the war. We've reached Day 1616, though with a lot of action in Russia during the night, the first 6 hours of the day (Moscow/Kyiv time) were covered last night.

Hello again! We start the 231st week of all-out war in Ukraine. Day 1615 of Russia's full invasion to be precise, or 4,541 since Putin began his plan to annex Crimea & invaded south/east Ukraine. I've covered Ukraine since before the 2013/4 Maidan revolution. Here's today's🧵

Day 1614 of all out war in Ukraine. Almost 4.5 years without a break of fighting at the front, being part of the support team, running to shelters, not knowing when the next missile will hit or if one will destroy your home, or claim your loved ones. Also no break for my daily🧵- here's Sunday's..

Belatedly, but I made it for the daily thread on Day 1613 of the war started by Russia, but hopefully to be finished by Ukraine, to restore the (more) peaceful order + balance. A succession of nights with little sleep kept me out of action for a few hours, but ready to go now!

Day 1612 of Russia's war may well get more than a footnote, when its history is written. Russia suffered blow after blow during the night with a hat-trick of Wildberries and an MoD factory all hit plus various smaller strikes by Ukraine. Putin's war has found ordinary Russians.

It's Thursday 23 July 2026. Here's another daily thread, covering all things Ukraine (and the invader Russia) It's Day 1611 and I'm still here, not one single day off. If you like what I do or admire my tenacity, please send a coffee my way. Let's get going.

Perhaps Marco Rubio should ask his Russian friends to stop bombing Ukraine instead of treating the war as an obstacle to U.S.-Russia relations.

Some berries are red. Some berries are blue. Some berries are just wild, and the Russian ones are very, very wild this morning. And burned. Welcome to the daily thread on Day 1610 of Russia's war of choice.
