There is simply no plausible argument that the president has the constitutional authority to refuse to spend appropriated funds because he doesn’t like how the money is being spent. The legality of policy impoundments is just not a close question.

My son(7yo) got Gravitrax for Christmas. We have been having a blast inventing our own tracks. He wanted a 3-way race which used the flip-flop and the X. It's nothing special but it's fun watching him build spatial reasoning and a joy to run the marbles down the tracks. 10/10 gift.
This isn't usually what people call me but in the most profound sense, they're not wrong.
Doing laundry in the winter brings the fun game of "Still Damp? or Just Cold?" I know, if I just got my clothes when the dryer finished then I wouldn't have this problem but who among us is on top of it enough to do that?

I remember expressing this worry to my husband when preparing for one of my first lectures and he said something like "you're a professor now, you should be able to talk about anything for any amount of time" and now I think of that as the true definition of "professing"

It's a bitter pill to accept that even most of our physics majors passed their math courses without actually learning the math.
Chuck does a good job laying out what I see to be the effects of genAI on the learning process. Short circuiting the essential part, the hard part, *feels good* to the student in the moment but robs them of the chance to actually learn and grow.

I think it's important to resist the stuff. For all of us. And for no greater reason than preserving our humanity. I think the stakes are that high.
