It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

finally gave in at 30% off and got BG3 for $42. which is about 4x what i ever want to pay for a video game. but if i get a couple hundred hours of playtime out of it, it'll be a fair deal. my forst character is a halfling rogue, urchin background. named pigpoopballs.jpg

screenshot of a BG3 character, chest and head, in the character editor screen. hes a short lil dude with a dreadlocked mohawk (tied back), a long beard also tied in a knot, scattered runes tattooed randomly across his face, a septum ring, and heavy eyeliner on the lower eyelids.

standing at the outfield bar at a minor league baseball game where a Trump voter is drunk and loudly complaining about democratic socialism, and I finally look over and this guy has literally pissed his basketball shorts. It's dripping lol

an amazing game in so many ways. characters, world, combat, story, all absolutely nails. but some of the most boring and tedious level design ever – no exploration, no grinding, no sidequests.. just one big long complicated hallway. still, hits everywhere else. great homage to the era-genre 8.5/10

his point is that the hypothetical superabundance of the AI and robot-powered future will make all goods and services cheap and abundant, which in turn will make people not care about money... yet he himself already lives in superabundance and is very much still in capital accumulation mode

if you have friends and family who have right-leaning worldviews but are also fans of conspiracy theories in general — the most effective, radicalizing question i've been asking them lately is, "what do all the worst people in the world agree on?" the answer is capitalism. it's always capitalism.

the most painful spot to get a tattoo is, officialy, the lower phalanges, from cuticle to second knuckle. I've done all the other spots: kneecaps & elbows, throat, armpit, even the webbing between fingers (which was the prior worst). this was a different level; not even the same kind of pain.

I don't clean my air fryer. Just dump it out after each use and then whatever sticks around gets to join the next meal. currently eating garlic parmesan green beans with bits of overcooked teriyaki marinade. whatever i make next will have a little parmigiano reggiano in it. the circle of life

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

a near-perfect little game. does exactly what it sets out to do – creates a small (but dense), magical little world, with simple mechanics but great platforming, level & puzzle design, and a cute little story that yes did make me cry a little. still, loses a point for being french. 9/10

movie idea: john wick doing a lap around his neighborhood and shooting all of his neighbors that are out setting off fireworks and scaring his dog
