Sharing info and footage about unabandoned games. I mostly focus on Japanese feature phones. Join Keitai World discord (previously Keitai Wiki discord) for more info about these games!

I've (roughly) scanned the original manual for the MobileWonderGate since I could not find it online. Not only could you browse web and email with the included cartridge, but also, you could download games! I wonder if we will find one of those games one day... archive.org/details/mobi...

While looking up information about PSX/PS2 games that use the Mobile Phone Connection Cable, I discovered a lot of manual scans are missing from online. So I'm going to start uploading my scans. These aren't the best quality, but hopefully they're better than nothing! archive.org/details/chec...

On the Panasonic P502i, a phone so old that it didn't even support Java i-appli, you can find Mobile GUNPEY as a built-in game. I have no idea how this kind of game can be preserved since it's probably just a binary blob on the chip that only the phone can read. But it's cool! #gunpey

I love when phones are themed! The Sony Ercisson SO212i features the characters from Doko Demo Issyo. If you toggle the "Picture Book" (ポケピの絵本) option, every time you open the phone, you'll be greeted with a message from one of the characters!

ICYMI, @yuvi.app released ReMEXA, an SDK reimplementation for J-PHONE, Vodafone, and SoftBank keitai games! These were competitors to i-mode games. They're finally accessible on Windows, Linux, and Mac. See my video for some featured games! An Android version is in the works too, so stay tuned...

In the late 90s/early 00s, mobile phones were used as modems to connect game consoles to the web. Currently, the REON Team is working to bring back GameBoy features, but I don't know what's out there for WonderSwan and PlayStation. Does anyone know of other projects related to phone peripherals?

We recently recovered Bomberman Special for DoJa, and one amazing discovery I made is that the game is actually TWO applications in one. If you boot the application into "Standby" mode instead of Normal, the app becomes a clock that you can use as a phone wallpaper. Now that's nifty!

Puzzle & Action: Tant-R is a Japan-exclusive spin-off of Sega's Bonanza Bros. In 2002, Sega released the mobile site Tant-R to distribute mobile ports of the mini-games from the original title. Recently, we recovered one of these mini-games, Tant-R: Hageshii ze (タントアールはげしいぜ) youtu.be/FxnerqYS7qI

For any keitai enthusiast at PAX East this year, I recommend checking out Gravity Co.'s booth, featuring remakes of classic Japanese retro games: Hashire Hebereke EX and the Jaleco Arcade Collection Vol 1. Sunsoft and Jaleco were both prolific publishers during the keitai era!
