I have a book club on my pasifika discord, and I really just read "But I know some folks that would love to join in on the discussion without the pressure of reading." from someone...just, no words 🤦.

you want to socialise, share ideas, connect. you don't want to do the monkey dance for the algorithm just to get read. so: agents, automation, clone armies. and in among the soulless machines, real thoughts. let's play.

You see the OpenAI/Hugging face hack? You reckon it was all shit? Maybe? Maybe not? Type shit I have a rant about, if you're into that sort of thing. bee.uncommonengineer.com/subscribe?utm_source=bluesky

Listening to any news from BBC, CNN or other western media is like suffering a brain damage event where they're talking about an alternate reality, like we don't have other sources of info to refer to.

I have a gripe about people who join discussions only linking to resources and not actually having or saying what their opinion is on the matter. Grow a pair and risk taking a stance on something, jay-sus.

The general consensus of everyone I have had coffee with is there will be a tsunami of AI slop this election year. Also a consensus of try not to add to it by sharing it yourself even if you like examples, and to talk to people person to person as much as you can.

This is a significant issue for democracy and trust in news media (already dismal, as we know). I'm so glad that Meta is taking action against this automated AI slop on their platforms by doing... *checks notes* nothing. #nzpol www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

Genuinely bummed about the fact I haven't touched a drumkit in... *checks watch* a couple of years 😞. I've been on or around drumkits since I was a teenager, former professional, gigs big & small, always had sticks, practice pads everywhere. I miss just playing. I will remedy that this year.
