Zach Bussey 🍁@zachbussey.tos.gg · 5d agoTwitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
GenAI (and my disdain for it) has really forced me to re-evaluate my relationships with process and the product.

Agreed that this is a good segment. There is not a single component of the AI stack that is not antagonistic to human welfare. An interviewee in this segment compares this to noise torture, and anyone exposed to constant noise of this sort knows it’s hostile to one’s wellbeing.

something happened today in my research area that's absolutely incredible but has absolutely no bearing on my research at all and no one will ever really know (or care) about it except me, and i think that's a shame
