More information I don’t know what to do with. Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond series, first gained notoriety in his military career in 1939 for the Trout Memo, which involved a plan for “casting a lure” to the Axis by planting misleading intelligence on a dead body for them to find. 1/3

Just dropped two bite-sized bits of horror. Conjunction is a post-apocalyptic point crawl about forging connections amid the horrors, written for the One Page Dungeon Contest. Beyond the Black Needed is a tale of demonic possession written for the Appx. N Jam. Links below.

Watching WW2 In Color and ya gotta love the slant. Narrator: Japan wanted the European colonies, but needed to be careful, as the US ran an “unofficial empire” in the Pacific. Motherfucker, the US had their damn military occupying the Philippines. You don’t need to sugar coat the imperialism!

A testimonial. Nightcrawler is My Boyfriend has done the impossible: convince me to pull my omnibus collection of Uncanny X-Men off the shelf that has been waiting "for the right time" to be read for about a decade now.

Our first episode is UP. We discuss Giant-Size X-Men #1 (the first appearance of our titular boyfriend) and write our first game mechanic. open.spotify.com/episode/1aSg...

Josh and I have been working on a little history retrospective on the past 5 years of Liminal Horror. It’s shaping up to be a five part series focusing somewhat on each year. So if you have any burning questions about any projects or bits you’ve been burning to know about ask away:

Gillian Anderson has officially revealed the upcoming 1,478-piece LEGO set for THE X-FILES. The set is centered on Mulder’s office, paired with a forest clearing scene and a hovering UFO. Includes 8 minifigures, featuring Mulder, Scully, The Flukeman & more. August 4.

Impossible to measure what's at the "top" of public perception but it's pretty clear that games like Lancer don't get the same kind of visibility because the attention machine doesn't play crunchy games

Lancer tends to fly under the radar a bit, but it's kinda wild when you know the number of views and downloads it needs to be getting to by locked in to that top slot on the Popular tab for Physical Games on itch.

Future Cthulhu Dark/Trophy idea: Borrow from Bloodborne's Amygdala and Lovecraft's From Beyond and have some lurking entity that the characters can only actually see when their Insight/Ruin reaches 5. Think I got something already brewing that I can integrate this with.

Free idea to steal: The Odyssey meets Carved from Brindlewood. You are on a journey home, but keep getting blown off course due to divine intervention. Each of the perils you face is a new "mystery" that must be resolved before you can continue your journey.

Been doing a lot of retrospection this month. I still think my post on Triangle Agency might be one of the best things I've written over the years. I'm gonna try to top that tonight with the FEMA management guidelines as TTRPG narrative guidelines thing I'm rotating in my head, but in the meantime:

You Didn't Understand Triangle Agency Because You're Already "Good At Games™" (and Probably Didn't Read Homestuck)

tl;dr (Triangle Long; Derails Reviews)      This one is gonna be kind of a long one, and because this ties to the point I'm making I'm actua...

I couldn't have asked for a better team to work on such a long spanning project. Josh's writing and design, Zach's art direction, Jert's editing and guidance. We've made something truly special here. 460 pages of text that has been honed to make a book worth reading and spending time with.

I love that Jurassic Park (the film) never really specifies why Ian Malcolm was invited, beyond serving as an expert to the insurance company. For clarity, he writes predictive mathematical models to identify points of failure in complex systems. That’s what all the “chaos theory” chat is all about.
