Congratulations to Veterans for all Voters on a major win. The 127th National Convention of the VFW adopted Resolution 435, supporting protections for military and overseas voters. VaV members and staff wrote the resolution and worked persistently and patiently to get it across the finish line.

On July 21, 1930, Executive Order 5398 was signed bringing together the Veterans' Bureau, the Bureau of Pensions, and the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers into one agency and creating the Veterans' Administration. Today, we celebrate the VA's 96th anniversary.

Women make up 21% of the active-duty Navy, but account for only about 7% of active-duty admirals. Yet this year, for the first time in over a decade, no female active-duty naval officers are likely to be promoted to admiral. Neither gender nor race should impact promotions.
