My thanks to the hosts, speakers and delegates of today's #fsem2026 event - hope the rest of the day goes well, but I've got to run a session on publishing elsewhere now!
Into the flash talks now so we're getting a rapid series of 5 minute papers. Bite sized insights into a range of fascinating topics. #fsem2026
Next speaker up now is Dr Alex Baker talking about 'Out with the Antibody.' #fsem2026
Listening to Professor Rachel Edwards talking about her work and research in ultrasound. Fascinating talk and brilliantly delivered too - really engaging. #fsem2026
Two chances to catch up with the Press tomorrow! In the morning we're at the FSEM 2026 Early Career Researcher Symposium. Then in the afternoon we're hosting a publication training session 'What Editors Really Want' as part of the Doctoral Colleges programme. See you there!
Excellent - an invitation to talk about the Press at the @merciancollab.bsky.social conference in September. Of course, now that means I have to sit down and write the talk...
Lovely long catch up with one of journal editors this afternoon, and in between discussions about the weather, some really interesting insights into their current operational activities and future plans, plus where the Press can support them in their endeavours too.
Loving the new map of OIPA members to really show where we new university presses are distributed around the country. Kudos to Kat for pulling this together. oipauk.org/membership/c...

On campus today as I'm off to the IAS' Accolade this afternoon to talk a bit about open access, research and publishing. All going to be somewhat freeform as I'm really not entirely sure the size of audience we're expecting given the weather! But fingers crossed there's some good chatter
Back in the auditorium for #OIPA2026 with @legionofllama.bsky.social talking about @uowpress.bsky.social and their ongoing open publishing work. Expect lots of Doctor Who references.
⚡️ Our next lightning talk is @legionofllama.bsky.social on ‘Reviewing the University of Warwick Press’ - through the lens of Doctor Who… @uowpress.bsky.social #OIPA2026
Thanks to everyone who spoke, facilitated, hosted or attended last week's @oipassoc.bsky.social event. It was great to see so many of you, and even share a few insights about the UWP's current direction of travel. Today, it's back to the day job!
Looking forward to voyaging down to Brighton and the University of Sussex tomorrow, for two days of strategic planning and symposium delights, alongside meeting up with lots of our @oipassoc.bsky.social colleagues. Sure to be a packed and fascinating couple of days. oipauk.org/news-events-...

Talking to one of our academics an editor over on this T&F journal (www.tandfonline.com/journals/cop...) about their peer-reviewing mentoring scheme. Interesting to hear, and always an element I'd love to see the Press support in the future for our own titles.

Great conversation about another book proposal for the Press. While we're not yet ready to 'open the books' to new projects - yet, pending resourcing of the relaunched Press - so heartening to hear from people who are already ready, willing and able to publish with us!

Cracking Interdisciplinary Methodologies workshop from Warwick's Health Spotlight team this afternoon. Three and a bit hours of some very energised and insightful discussions, debate and presentation. Thanks to everyone involved! warwick.ac.uk/research/spo...
Two big meetings today. Firstly it's the termly UWP Journals Editors Forum meeting, & a chance to catch up with our fantastic hosted journals community. Then it's on to an Interdisciplinary Health research workshop, where I'm talking briefly about our Press & its current activities
Spending a few minutes reflecting on (and reading write ups from) yesterday's 'Making Connections, Thriving Beyond Silos' interdisciplinary workshop. An excellent event, with some really insightful advice and interesting conversations around it.
Today the UWP is over at a British Academy ECR network event here at Warwick, speaking briefly to ideas around interdisciplinary publishing. But lurking throughout the day as a semi-delegate & looking forward to hearing from some good speakers.
