When I first joined Bluesky, I made a remark about how I knew of folks that had been hit by e-bikes, and that I thought they needed to be regulated. I was promptly called a racist. So I expect the discussions here to be as civil as ever.

Everything about these barriers is a joke. They offer no protection; I often see people leaning on them on the TRACK side. But what really pisses me off is how half-assed the installation is. There are stations with a few of these. Not even along the entire length. It shows they really don't care.

Interesting idea from the New York Fiscal Policy Institute: Turn the EDC into NYC's social housing developer. The EDC already has a lot of land, funding, and institutional capacity. Previous mayors molded it to their priorities. What more urgent task is there now than housing?
