My newest #L5R fanart piece, featuring my OC Daidoji Tama felling a recently turned yobanjin zombie. Spent way longer on this than I intended, but such is it with drawing some times - still not super happy with it, but I do like Tama's pose and her overall flow here.

A digital art piece featuring two characters at night surrounded by fog, close to the path up distant mountains (and a distant third character that can be barely made out off to the right corner, on top of one of the mountains). The moon is full on this particular night, and there are heavy clouds scattering the sky. The figure on the left is a man from the north, beyond Rokugan's borders (called a yobanjin) who unfortunately was raised as a zombie. He is also unfortunate in that he is struck by a a blade in this very moment, and about to perish from the damage, thus his astonished facial expression, and somewhat staggered pose. He wears simple clothing in orange-red hues with a yellow belt, a grey wolf's pelt over his shoulders and a damaged headband. The woman who just struck him has black hair, a determined expression, and wears a purple travel kimono with long sleeves, tuckered into darker hakama-type pants. One can also make out part of her belt, where her saya (scabbard) for her wakizashi can be partially seen - the wakizashi itself, however, is missing (it was lost some time before this scene). On her right hand, she sports a yellow-orange specially-made half-glove, partially to obscure the damage done to her hand (she has lost two fingers as part of her journey) and partially to make it easier to hold weapons with only three fingers. She wields a butterfly sword.

It's my birthday!! Bsky tradition holds that I can ask for shares for my birthday! 🎉🎂 If you don't know me, I'm Carmine, a pinup artist and OC designer with a number of queer horror comics in the works. I'm best known around here for women's wrongs, noir ambiance, and rabid lesbianism.

Starting 2026 with sharing a bit about a project I have been working on for a while. "Death's grand tour" is a magical realism/historical comic in which death takes his reluctant apprentice on a Grand Tour Through Europe in order to learn about the meaning of life and deat's role in it all.

I don't know if there's a fanbase still for V5 now that V6 is in development (and from what I've heard, many don't seem to like either edition!), but I figured I could start converting all my Discipline cards to a smaller format and perhaps make a pack with a new look, should there be any interest.

Been sick today, but did have the time to read some of the V6 alpha rules. A lot of this is intriguing, some of it is much less so (to me) and I must admit I'm a little miffed at how much it seems to not want to build upon V5. Still early though, and I'll read more when I feel up for it. #vtm #v6

Why would I automate the part of my job that I most enjoy? Why would I have a robot write on my behalf when my clients hired me for my specific unique voice and perspective? No, I do not use AI. Maybe there are authors who do, but I don’t know any personally.

I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines. Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."

Singaporean artist Leia Ham reimagined LotR as Tale of the Middle Kingdom, since Chinese name for China (Zhōngguó) means "The Middle Kingdom." Her concept art includes the Fellowship, armors, buildings like Bag End, props like Aragorn's banner and Fellowship brooches, and more. #TolkienTrewsday

An illustration of the Fellowship, reimagined with Chinese-style period outfits. An illustration of armors of Gondor, Rohan, and Rivendell Elves, reimagined using different periods of Chinese armors as concepts. On the top right are three side profiles of Rohan man, Gondorian, and Elf with different Chinese hairstyles. On the bottom right is Aragorn's banner redrawn with Chinese influence.A concept art of Bag End reimagined as Chinese court houses, with tall stone gates, round wooden doors, curved roofs, and open courtyard, nestled in a hill.A concept art of Rivendell in the style of Chinese painting. Next to it are several props drawn in Chinese style such as Fellowship brooch based on gingko leaves, lembas in the shape of mooncake, Elfstone as round jade, Galadriel's phial in a green jade bottle, and shards of Narsil.

More #L5R art featuring my OC, Daidoji Tama, and her major crush Ikoma Rieko. The latter is inspecting Tama's... rather serious wound after a big battle. Lots of context that I can't get into here, but suffice to say they have complex relationship.

My newest art piece, depicting Daidoji Shi; the Harrier character played by a friend of mine in a fun Legend of the Five Rings PbP-game I am part of ^^ Really hard pose to draw; I had a reference so that helped, but it still took a long time. Still, quite happy with the result overall. #l5r

A white-haired woman

I finished a drawing after a roleplaying session of the Legend of the Five Rings featuring Daidoji Shi and Daidoji Tama (my player character!) sharing a nice, relaxing bath at night at an onsen by a shrine deep into Lion lands. I don't usually do backgrounds so this was nice practice for me ^^ #l5r
