It hit me that we can con gllvm into facilitating gllvm::glmmVA with mixed response types, in a way that is akin to how to handle these things with INLA (look @bobohara.bsky.social, putting your wisdom to work!), which I think allows you to fit the random effect structure below?

I've had quite a few review requests on ordination come in lately; three this week alone. I decline not because I don't want to review, I actually do. I always feel guilty turning down perfectly reasonable requests. Except the ones that misspell my name. Reviewer 2 can deal with those.
