Today we dropped into “Uncanny Encounters in Asian Modernisms”, an invigorating panel with talks ranging from exoticized premodern Japan, to sound in Woolf and Bae Suah, to Chinatowns in (post)colonial Singapore.The panel asks: What can “Asian modernisms” mean?
