Thou shalt not whitewash a Senator’s lifelong racism and warmongering. You will all be remembered accordingly for your words and deeds.

Looks like Scott Gilmore found a way to create the new Conservative Party he was hoping to see in 2017: just take over the Liberal Party and make it into a Progressive Conservative one. Gilmore (no relation!!!) is set to become Carney's principal secretary.

Globe and Mail headline reads: Carney promotes key advisers Scott Gilmore, Maia Johnson in PMO shuffle

The beginning of the article reads: "Two other members of Prime Minister Mark Carney's inner circle are getting a boost as part of a staff shuffle prompted by the appointment of his principal secretary to the Senate and a deputy chief of staff departing to run for office."Excerpt of a National Observer article from 2017 reads:

"Scott Gilmore - an unapologetic "self-loathing" Conservative - has had it with his political party.
If the Tory leadership race is any indication, he writes in his latest column for Maclean's magazine, the Conservatives appear to be dominated by "xenophobic, economically illiterate, populist buffoons." It's time to build a new right-of-centre party, says the former Canadian diplomat, one that values "liberty, equality and facts over ideology."

Intrigued?"

If nothing else positive happens in 2025, I will remember it as the year I discovered New Zealand band The Beths, who in the space of a month & a half have rocketed up to becoming one of my favorite bands of all-time... 1/2

Big day at U.S. District Court in D.C. where Sean Dunn, the D.C. Sandwich Guy, is on trial for misdemeanor assault of a federal officer. Border Patrol agent Gregory Lairmore is on the stand narrating surveillance video of the sammie toss. 'Now he’s struck me with the sandwich,' Lairmore says.

I quoted the late, great Norm Macdonald's anti-Hitler joke in a thread on Reddit but the main post got deleted when I had 88 likes. Now I'm not sure if I should delete it or leave it alone because of my excedingly dark sense of humour 🤣
