Energy transition, defending every real solution: bikes, transit, insulation, heat pumps, solar, wind, nuclear, EVs...
All indicators point towards a global food crisis in the coming months: production decreasing in Russia, tensions on fertilizers because of the Iran war, historic heatwaves in Europe, record el Niño forecast. Governments should take all corn and soy devoted to livestock and store it for humans.

Totally disagree on this one. Letting states run everything gives even more power to corporations, who can blackmail local governments, forcing them into a competition of ever lower corporate taxes, environmental standards, labour laws etc. It would be far better to have more federal legislation.
Right wing politicians want you to think you're alone with your green opinions. You are not.

If the answers had included a "wealth tax on billionnaires" option, I'm pretty sure the approval would have been even higher.
A majority of U.S. adults agree on increasing income tax rates for upper-income Americans (63%) and increasing tax revenues by making major changes to the federal tax code (54%) to reduce the federal debt.

It's funny to have to make this case but tbqh we don't make it enough: human efforts to counter fossil fuel use have had *at least some* effect on total greenhouse gas emissions since the signing of the Paris Agreement in 2015, and there's some evidence to back up this position A lil thread 🧵

Primary energy coefficients used in building regulations are highly political and dependent on your goals, and pretending they're just a result of physics is totally dishonest.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
1. Biking infrastructure 2. How cars destroyed cities 3. Why solar is going to win
1. Decarbonising transport & heating 2. Decarbonising ports 3. Hydrogen (and the reason why it won’t have a role in the above)

my takeaway from climate week nyc is that "climate storytelling" is a little too much "we must reimagine our deepest souls in relationship to mother nature and the moral abyss of the polycrisis into which we must now stare" and not enough "ok but get a heat pump"
