Free idea for anyone who wants it: crime/noir setting; Jac le Squawk. A petty thief who has ratted out tons of partners in crime when he inevitably gets caught. He always plea bargains his way out of harm. The one man he'll never speak of-his oldest friend and the suspect in a high stakes murder.
Fellow authors: without any context, what's the first line of your current WIP? WIP1: A cold wind blew around the cabin. WIP2: They pull you in with the alluring promise of safety. WIP3: I first got the idea after the battle with the Necromancer. WIP4: Marisol needed the money from the gig.
WIP1: Esther was not in the habit of repeating herself. WIP2: Ixia knew its land's gods and ghosts. The Bear Queen Circe would be its first demon. WIP3: The raccoons of E. Cherry and N. Mercer Lanes had seen some shit.

You gotta write, and you gotta write your own stuff, and you have to write stuff you'd want to read. Enjoy writing for its own sake and enjoy what you write, because if you don't, no one else will either.

New: Researchers have quantified how easy AI search is to manipulate. Just 13 words buried in a random Reddit comment can poison AI search results. They suggest this is not easy to stop: "The way you can attack these systems is so much dumber than you think it is" www.404media.co/it-is-trivia...
