hot take: if more people read more fiction the world would be a better place
Ennui’d@bradleeonbass.bsky.social · 3d agoLibraries remain one of the pinnacles of human accomplishment: what do you mean I can think of almost any book, click a few links, and they’ll have it waiting for me a mile away from my house for free?!
typically not an advocate for phish with guests, but jason isbell sitting in at some point during the hunstville shows would be neat. 24 frames? alabama pines? they covered gillian welch at dick's in 2011 so i don't think it's an insane proposition.

nice thread from Jonathan about one of the better 📕 I’ve read this year
J.M. Hart (rowjimmy)@jmhart.bsky.social · last wk.Earlier this year I read Daniel Kraus' book "Angel Down". Couched as a novel with a gimmick of being a run on sentence, I found it to be a brutally graphic epic poem and meditation on pacifism in a world ripped apart by violence. As a pacifist, myself, this spoke clearly to me.

recording and editing episode 27 of my eggy pod today. a big-picture look at why some shows are just "okay," others are "good," and many are "great" and (if you're lucky) "epic." will then take stock of recent shows from july and august to see where (and why) they fall along that spectrum.

Time for music nerdery: Latest 2026 listening numbers have me at 259 albums so far. 95 albums were new; of those, I really dug 43. 164 albums were from 2025 or earlier (on a big Pharoah Sanders kick, amongst others). This chronological Google doc has the details: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
