And things r made up of smaller blocks which u internalize and build bigger structures. Long way2 go from phone in pants to visuals, good explanations

Just got back from watching Odyssey with my younger son. Visually stunning and not a single boring moment in the movie. I loved especially performances from Anne Hathaway and Elliot Page. Two teens with me loved it which I think is amazing.

After seeing how good this latest guard railed model is, do you worry about the consequences of uneven access? I got downgraded asking even psychological questions. Really is it about security? What is being secured?

I have a wish that it wouldn’t downgrade at any mention of anything related to biology but opus 5 is definitely much better than 4.8. I think cows most definitely feel contempt. I once met a cow at a fair w the most expressive face and justifiably, he was not liking ppl very much.

Taking younger son to see The Odyssey. Thinking about the story at my age vs at age 17/18 is totally different. The idea of always choosing the more difficult journey home, hero's tale vs actual devastation are very moving to me. I have loved many of Nolan's movies, so I'm looking forward to it.

we took our non-verbal son to get blood work done. there was a lovely nurse there whose previous career was working 1:1 with special needs kids in school setting. She was holding his hands and talking to him and my son communicated "gloves" which is three levels down, I've never seen him use it.

I was reading about Gutenberg with my younger son, I learned his mirror-selling venture failed when the Aachen pilgrimage was postponed. It struck me that Gutenberg is about as far from Charlemagne as he is from us. 800s-1400-2000s similar spans but fist half feels more ancient.

Some models seem better at getting the context. I don’t need very fast shallow processes, I need something that can understand me and problems better. For coding, I’ve tried Codex w 5.6 but I think fable 5 is much better. Opus 5 4 coding I haven’t tried yet. W chats, ChatGPT is better at some tasks

My first test of Opus 5 was asking how I would air fry korean mung bean cake. I love the taste but it is super hot here now and a bit hellish frying all the batter. Pretty good! It needs a more savory dipping sauce, since the taste of the ingredients doesn't get as infused as it does when pan-fried.

When I converse with Fable 5, sometimes it’s very verbose. kind of smarter opus 4.8. But it seems less practical than opus 4.6. Fable 5 is very good at catching errors though.

I worked on sentence strip with my new update of ConnectTalk (waiting for review) using photos generated with Gemini. Some verbs are better done with videos so had Gemini generate videos. Sometimes photos morph but close enough to original that my son got it. He also enjoyed looking at familiar ppl

I'm bringing my first app back. It was my final project at bootcamp and it was made for iPad. I know it's not perfect but I'm still fond of the custom animation I did along with music I played on keyboard from listening to orchestral version of it.

Yikes, I signed up for speech club to improve my and my younger son's communication skills but speeches take a long time to prepare .. This is my intro. It was fun researching history and origins of these foods and piecing them together with my childhood memories

There are many things going on w older adult son's services. We've basically had zero in past few months from not even fraction of what we have on paper. They ask for paperwork after paperwork, and more after you finish under new pretext. Frustration turns into fuel for me.

Curious thing - Fable 5 can't tell that the screenshot is rotated for landscape shot. I even rotated one and said "do you see the difference" and it couldn't tell. I don't think it's worth it to use tokens for this purpose. I also have to live with the app for about a week since I found subtle bugs

Sometimes I hear about “cures” for conditions that are diagnosed by behaviors and it can be very triggering. This leaves people who didn’t have infinite resources to try anything that was found to be helpful for subset of this population feeling that they fell short.

I know this essay is assigned a lot in schools but first time reading it. My younger son is taking an essay writing course and teacher recommended it. I found it very moving
