OCEAN GROVE, VIC. — Geelong Divisional Response Unit detectives charged a man after following the alleged offender in Ocean Grove on Sunday. Officers were called to reports of an unknown man in the shed of a property on Arkins St in Point Lonsdale just before 9.30am. The man was approached by the property owner and allegedly fled in a white Mitsubishi Triton. There were no injuries. The Air Wing followed the stolen Mitsubishi as it drove through the streets of Ocean Grove, allegedly reaching speeds of up to 135km/h. It was dumped near a playground at the intersection of Omega Drive and Empress Boulevard.
