this. this. this. I've done several big commissions where the commissioner drew me a stick figure after they couldn't find the right reference for a pose or wanted something very specific. The difference between no reference (bc you can't find one) and a stick figure is M A S S I V E!!!

Stick person poses are beloved among all artists. We can see exactly what you want. Do not fear sending the stick person. The stick person is magical.
One of the biggest examples I show when I tell people to send me a stickfigure doodle if they can't find a good reference for a pose!
