I have neither read Wilson's translation nor seen Nolan's film (I OD'd on classics in high school) though I am sure both are fine examples of their genre. Nevertheless: in what conceivable universe could any reasonable person describe them as "colleagues"?

After many years of dispute, I have handed the arrangement of the main shelves over to my spouse, whose mind is generally much tidier than mine. I ask them where the book I need is, and then sort it into the proper associational stack for whatever I'm currently writing.

Today's very niche complaint: videos claiming to show furniture built from "reclaimed" wood that begin with chainsaw milling a tree trunk. That's not reclaimed!

I have not really figured out how to unpack my thoughts about this, but I keep thinking that there are more people who have very intense feelings about the meaning of Jerusalem than there are people who know that it has a lot of malls.
