Can't stop thinking about this; transmissible cancers are so crazy, extremely rare (tassie devils, dogs, some clams), but I wonder why? It seems like it should be very common. It's advantageous for the cancer to escape the dead-end host. And yet... www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Cool. Thanks! I was writing a comparison with the chloroquine resistance allele in P falciparum malaria in Africa which went to near fixation in many African countries and then down when treatments changed. Up was hard sweep, down soft.
