Prolific Warhammer miniature painter who can’t pick a colour scheme, reads lots, puns too much, moderates Twitch/YouTube chats, oft found contributing to Warhammer Community articles. Recovering agoraphobic. (He/him) https://vincentknotley.wordpress.com

Imagine having to spend money on a machine destroying the environment to tell you what your opinion on a thing is. At least Skynet had the decency to fight us for dominance over the course of 6 movies, 2 series of a TV season, and numerous comics and games.

This month marks 8 years moderating Warhammer livestreams through the before times, the COVID daily sometimes double day streams and previews and Warhammer Open events across both Twitch and YouTube. Here’s to 8 more! Shout out to an awesome community which makes each hour as moderati awesome.

Spent half a dozen hours painting. The muscle for it needs to kick back kn after not being able to for ages (okay like 7 days but I usually do it daily). Almost got an almost finished unit from a couple of weeks ago done too! Might actually get them posted this week. Here’s a penguin tax.

Saw one of those quote your most popular post on Bluesky things a day or two ago. Can’t find one in my feed. Anyway I think mine was these nine Red Corsairs Raiders. I’ll finish the second unit leader one day.

Found an hour to paint today for the first time in a week after a long hospital visit. That felt good. That felt so very good. Here’s hoping there’ll be a lot more in what may very well be an actual day to myself tomorrow.

Got smacked with a surprisingly thick book in the head by someone suffering dementia on a geriatric and stroke ward after I helped to find his book because he thought I’d stolen it off him. How’s your Saturday going?

One of the strange things my father's delirium has brought out (it shouldn't last, but man is it scary to see) is a whole heap of history about his and my mother's lives I NEVER knew. Today I learned my mother used to make dresses. Good dresses. Beautiful dresses. WHY AM I ONLY LEARNING THIS NOW!

Becsuse there’s something undefinably satisfying about rocking up to a game with an army in all different schemes. And they were totally new when I painted them, so working out how each scheme was going to fit on each model and where colours would go took a lot of well-worthwhile time.

It isn't yet the end of the week, but who doesn't want some more good vibes around the place? Do me a little favour! Quote this post with something you've painted that you're proud of, or you just really like. Doesn't have to be your best, just something that makes you smile when you see it!

I need to paint a lot right now. A: it’s kind of why most of you are here and B: it’s how I cope with my anxiety and stressful situations. Right now. Stress. Haven’t even touched a brush (haven’t had a chance properly) since Friday between seeing dad in hospital and then being there for mum.

My brain body and soul are still fried. Tried to paint. Filed miserably. But seeing everyone’s minis when I come to flick through socials to recharge my brain battery? That’s been a massive help. Keep painting!
