"I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia when I was only one year old. My cancer treatment left me immunosuppressed for basically my entire life... One of the most common causes of organ rejection is infection: viral, bacterial, or fungal." www.voicesforvaccines.org/im-beating-t...

I’m beating the odds after cancer. Vaccines help me do it.

I’ve overcome so much medically. But I can’t beat measles and other diseases on my own.

"Five years ago, if you’d told me I’d have to worry about getting measles every time I left my house, I wouldn’t have believed you. I took it for granted that I could rely on herd immunity without a second thought." www.voicesforvaccines.org/i-cant-be-va...

I Can’t Be Vaccinated. That’s Why I Need You to Be.

Every time I get sick, my immune system treats it as something it’s never seen before—a complete unknown.

The year before the introduction of the hib vaccine (1994) in Aotearoa we had an incidence of 36.4 cases per 100,000 population, by 1999 it had fallen to 1.7 cases per 100,000 population. Vaccines work e te whānau. It's a beautiful thing.

The Hib vaccine basically eliminated Hib. Before then, it was the leading cause of bacterial meningitis in young kids, and led to tragedies like this one. Remarkable public health win. www.voicesforvaccines.org/a-hib-vaccin...
