I've been thinking about game tutorials and how they didn't exist back in the day. You were expected to read the manual to learn how to play and if you didn't that was on you. How would people respond to a game like that today? It ships with a digital manual and no in game tutorial, read it or don't

My fiancé got me this Japanese CHRONO Trigger Strategy Guide for my bday and it has a bunch of Toriyama art I’ve never seen before! Including a comic depiction of the millennium fair!

I feel like this incessant need for games to provide forever fun is a big part of what’s wrong with games today. 20 hours (what time to beat states) is a long time and totally provides enough value. It’s still a good review just wish we could get past this notion that games never end.
