Wayne County - 8:10AM ET Drop Total Votes: 12,569 🟠 Haley Stevens – 8,091 (64.4%) 🟣 Abdul El-Sayed – 4,478 (35.6%) Stevens now leads El-Sayed by 5.9 points in Wayne.

NEWS — Embattled Republican Rep. Chuck Edwards has withdrawn from the NC-11 race. He says he will serve out his current term.

The main reason we have not called the race is that Detroit’s Election Day absentee ballots have not yet been reported. The pre-processed ballots often do not represent the full absentee vote, and Stevens could win the remaining ballots by a wide margin.

From Zachary Donnini: “This is narrowing at a rapid rate and will come down to Wayne. Stevens is vastly outperforming expectations across a lot of whiter, less urban areas. El-Sayed exceeding his targets in Kent, Washtenaw, and Oakland. Stevens exceeding elsewhere.”

This may be Stevens’ strongest result yet. She is even winning the Election Day vote in Shiawassee by 12 points, helping narrow the race. Her better-than-expected performance across rural and small-town Michigan is adding up.
