On July 4th, as the country celebrated its 250th birthday, Hyatt Regency Cambridge workers leafletted outside the property. The hotel workers are asking customers, companies, & the community not to eat, sleep, or meet in the hotel until they have a fair process to decide on unionization.

Great to join hotel workers with @local26-unitehere.bsky.social at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge to demand a fair process for union recognition!

⚡️Last night was electric! ⚡️ In the midst of a tornado warning, we had a full house of community leaders and members, fired up about the vision of a city and state that can pass progressive policy and isn’t stymied by State House Leadership who aren’t meeting the moment to fight for working people.

Wrote about our work on housing on the Cambridge City Council in @jacobinmag.bsky.social! Our housing crisis isn’t caused by gov’t. It’s caused by state & federal electeds failing to legislate and empowering bad actors. It’s time for more bold action at the local level jacobin.com/2026/05/sobr...

Corporate Democrats Still Don’t Understand Housing

Cambridge socialist City Councilor Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler argues that solving the housing crisis means building more homes while fighting for affordability and tenant power.

Proud to stand with Harvard University workers from @hgsuuaw and @haworkers who are on strike! They're fighting for a fair contract with harassment & discrimination safeguards, fair compensation, and protections for immigrant workers

Good luck, speakers! I can’t make it tonight, but said my piece via email yesterday. Thanks to @councilloralzubi.bsky.social and @votejivan.bsky.social for putting the PO forward, and to @cambbikesafety.bsky.social for their work as always.

Oh my. 82 people in line for public comment at tonight's #cambma city council meeting. I assume most of them return to the barricades on the question of Garden St. and 2-way traffic vs. parking (vs. bike lanes) which is raised for the first time with this year's new city councillors.
