"For the thousands of hotel, airport, and food service workers who keep Massachusetts running every single day, the passage of the PROTECT Act is a monumental victory for human dignity and workplace justice." @carlosaramayo.bsky.social, President, UNITE HERE Local 26

Friday picket at the Royal Sonesta Boston, where workers are asking the company for a fair process to decide on a union, without fear of harassment, intimidation, or retaliation. "Sonesta should show us the same respect we show its guests,” said Neida, a Room Attendant.
From concession stand workers, to dining hall staff, to hotel workers, hospitality workers keep Massachusetts running. I am proud to stand with @local26-unitehere.bsky.social, and I will keep fighting in the Senate to protect the right to organize.
Strike Vote Alert! In 2023, 98% of @local26-unitehere.bsky.social & @teamsters25 members at Encore Boston voted to authorize a strike. This year, over 90% of workers took their photos to show they are ready to strike for the contract they deserve. 👀 Watch this space for voting dates & times.
James, a worker at the Omni Providence Hotel, recently met @davidmoralespvd.bsky.social who is running for Mayor to tackle the affordability crisis and deliver a Providence for ALL! Vote David Morales for Providence Mayor in the primaries on September 9th! 🗳️☑️
Charges have been dropped against SEIU USWW President David Huerta. A win for workers! We won’t stop speaking up to demand justice for all workers, no matter where they were born. We will not be silenced.
Quoting someone who saw that @local26-unitehere.bsky.social is supporting Helena Foulkes and David Morales: "Interesting mix of candidate support." Seems pretty consistent to me!! Both have emphasized improving transit, making streets safer & promoting policies that lift up working families.
McKee-Smiley voter? Hell no 😡 Foulkes-Smiley voter? Not quite 😪 Foulkes-Morales voter? Das right 😎 From a transit advocate's perspective: This is what happens when the incumbent Rhode Island governor "right-sized" transit & incumbent Providence mayor took a less ambitious approach to safer streets.
In 2024, Boston hotel workers’ strikes led to historic contracts that saw wages grow to meet the rising cost of living. Aramark workers at Fenway also won substantial raises after striking last year. Will Encore Boston Harbor step up & pay their workers the wages they deserve?
We stand with the Massachusetts Nurses Association and @1199seiu.org at Boston Medical Center! Fair contract now!

On July 4th, as the country celebrated its 250th birthday, Hyatt Regency Cambridge workers leafletted outside the property. The hotel workers are asking customers, companies, & the community not to eat, sleep, or meet in the hotel until they have a fair process to decide on unionization.
Great to join hotel workers with @local26-unitehere.bsky.social at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge to demand a fair process for union recognition!
GroveBay/T.F. Green F&B workers went on strike last Thursday. Their contract expired last August and they haven't had a raise in 2 years. We're grateful to Local 26–endorsed Providence Mayoral candidate @davidmoralespvd.bsky.social for supporting them on the picket line! #WhenWeFightWeWin ✊
Airport management wants to remain neutral during the strike said Representative Morales to striking workers , but “being neutral means being on the side of the bosses.”
@local26-unitehere.bsky.social, a union representing hotel workers in Providence, to endorse @davidmoralespvd.bsky.social for Providence mayor

Correct. Late Dad went on strike with @local26-unitehere.bsky.social several years ago to fix the Marriott contract, and if it wasn't for the strike fund, we wouldn't have had electricity. Strike funds are important, and for a general strike, even more critically so. Donate when possible.
ALSO ONE OF THE REASONS WHY PEOPLE CAN AFFORD TO STRIKE FOR MORE THAN A DAY IS BECAUSE UNIONS HAVE STRIKE FUNDS AND ACTUALLY SUPPORT EACH OTHER okay i’ll go get coffee now
For longtime concessions workers at @fenwaypark.bsky.social, welcoming visitors from around the world is all about teamwork, camaraderie, & the desire to serve up the best of Boston. Next Monday, 72 food and beverage workers at T.F. Green will be preparing to go on strike unless they reach a FAIR contract. I am urging Grove Bay management to negotiate a fair contract that reflects the value our food and beverage workers bring to T.F. Green each day!
Grove Bay workers at Rhode Island's T.F. Green International Airport have voted 98% to authorize a strike. ⏰ Strike deadline: June 22 #FairContractNow
'26 Strong! Last month Hyatt Regency Cambridge workers launched a boycott of the hotel, asking folks not to eat, meet, or sleep at the property until Hyatt's owner KSL agrees to a fair process for workers to decide on unionization. Thank you Councilor Marc McGovern for supporting the workers!
Our work MUST be joyful! Shout out to Kim Randall and the Hilton crew at Local 7 for leading the way and starting a new tradition for the crew: Line dancing to end the picket line. 💃
