Trump is always grateful for a new reason to "be angry" at Ukraine. He gladly repeats Putin's lies. One can easily imagine how things would go if Putin attacked a NATO member. The post-truth US is not a reliable partner. US security guarantees are not worth much.

The more that members of the Trump administration talk, the more it sounds as if Plan A to stop the war was to coerce Ukraine into capitulation and Plan B was to keep repeating Plan A until it worked. When it became apparent that wasn't going to happen, they were out of ideas.

Zelensky says Putin is welcome to visit Pokrovsk, but “everyone knows how that would end.” He confirmed no Ukrainian encirclement there, though the battle is fierce. Russia aims to capture the city. He also said Ukraine has already destroyed one “Oreshnik” missile system inside Russia.

Trump likes Putin and Russia. Trump wants to "get along" with Putin and with Russia. When under intense pressure, he makes vague threats about punishing Russia which he then ignores, or converts into diplomatic favours for Russia. None of this is likely to change.

Lifting sanctions on Belarusian airline Belavia is lifting sanctions on russia. And just one day after 19 russian drones attacked a NATO country. It makes no sense and demonstrates weakness.

Whoever calls the drone attack against Poland a mistake is either pro-Russian, a total fool, or both.
