Okay, I think this first episode is drafted out. Learned a lot about several of the planned characters - and more about one that wasn't planned. Not sure how much of a role she'll play in future episodes, but I'm already finding her fascinating to explore! (And no, she's not one of the suspects.)

Trying to describe a person who identifies as non-binary when the term didn't exist in the late seventies is proving to be an interesting challenge. Also, yes, I'm trying to write the first episode of the serial now to get a feel for the main character. It's been fun so far!

1 AM Challenge: Think of a name and species for the new serial's protagonist that you haven't used recently (Impossible)
What I've done so far: loosely plan out the first few episodes of the new serial, including when to introduce our vixen suspects, confirm the protagonist is non-binary, and jot down what moschief the vixen monster gets into on her first appearance. What I haven't done today: Actual work stuff
So I am not tipsy enough to be a threat, but I'll still re-issue my initial warning about your cars and their relative safety around my feet
Yes, I am putting up with mild unsolicited social interaction with strangers, a sun setting in my face, overpriced beer and the risk of wasp stings because the band playing really is that good
Having fun so far but the amount of wasps in my immediate vicinity is worrying
Gonna do the sensible thing and get some food first and holy crap $16 for a fancy grilled cheese sandwich
Oh hey, that jazz band that's performing up north tonight that I put in a reminder for, I should probably do that instead of zoning out after work, huh (There will also be drinks there, and it's being held in a big parking lot so maybe don't surprised if some of them have pawprints afterward)
Oh boy, the brainstorming continues. May be onto something here. May also be debating on a big fox lady monster as the giant. No idea what she looks like yet, but I'm piecing things together. I *should* be getting my reports done instead of thinking about giant vixen monsters, but hey. :)

Mulling over a possible serial idea during work downtime, one where the macro stuff is heavily downplayed but still a part of the story (you'd still get a giant, promise!), possibly leaning toward a mystery theme. Will it go anywhere? Who knows! We'll see. :)

So despite there being a beta for TOKON this weekend, and enjoying the 30 minutes or so I've played of it, I've somehow had way more fun grinding quests in GBF: Relink instead, and would rather do that over putting any amount of time into learning another ArkSys game. Hmm.

Every once in a while Youtube will toss videos at me about writing advice with titles such as "Top 10 Mistakes You Make Writing Your First Novel" or "Editors Hate Reading This", and a part of me wonders if the goal is to actually *show* you how to put together a novel or scare you away from it.
