For me its this and the fact that even if my partner was somewhat enlightened, stats speaking- their families (you know what you'll be marrying into) will not be- Meemaw calling me a slur at the dinner table would have me airing the whole building out... SO LETS JUST NOT😅🤣

the thought of having to explain blackness and its nuances alone turns me off from being in interracial relationships.

Honestly, I’m starting to see it as a extension of literacy. They got to a place of complacency where they felt like they no longer had to be literate in the modern world and it’s warped their world view.

You have to hand hold them and force prices in their face to make it click. Even then they tend To believe we arent working hard Enough.
I treat my friends very well bc they are an extension of me. They are a part of my space. And if I see fit to have you here, we are definitely locked in. Friendships are just as, if not more than, important to me as romantic relationships
