#miriamtoews fascinating memoir written in a sometimes fragmented, sometimes narrative style, with stitch patterns from previous chapters repeated later on. A great sense of her multi-generational home. Family. Writing. Told with humour.

I read that this two-plot, two-setting, two-protagonist novel was first published half with one story first and half with the other. My ebook weirdly had 2 sections with both stories repeated and no explanation. What an awesome and successful experiment. I loved both stories and the ties between!
