Inevitably will be posting about UK politics or board games. Not a big fan of where the human race has taken the planet at the moment. Trying hard to keep the lights on in dark times.
I should also mention I spent almost the entire game with a larva attached to the Scout - desperately trying to get to Surgery but being thwarted at every step.

I still find it hard to take any government seriously in their pronouncements about the economy whilst their higher education policy is effectively destroying one of the most productive - and regionally diversified - parts of the economy, just to placate racists.

The problem with the Matt Chorley afternoon show on Radio 5 Live is that it is OK when there is some politics - but when there isn't, it's a dire mix of poor dad jokes and weak content (and yes, he's STILL doing the 'let's find a person from every constituency in Britain' thing ....)

Went to see The Odyssey. A thoroughly entertaining 3 hours. Narratively Nolan plays it pretty straight - and in parts answers the question "what would a Tarantino movie directed by Nolan" look like.
Listening to the new Madonna album. It's ...... pretty darned good.
Had to buy a new washing machine. It has an app, wi fi etc (which has to be connected to set it up). It can tell me my laundry statistics, how long is left in the cycle on my phone and how much detergent is in the tray. All of it utterly pointless. Data for data's sake.
It's always interesting how words like "pugnacious", "forthright" and "challenging" are used as 'qualities' when someone dies.

Why do BBC reporters ALWAYS go to Reform voters for 'alternative views' on "what Andy Burnham might do"? Never anyone who might be more of a Green / left wing persuasion. They just seem determined to cement the idea that Reform are 'the opposition'.

I'm still astonished by what a catastrophic mess Labour have made of Government in less than 2 years. And with a whopping majority as well. So many terrible decisions - frankly they just didn't seem up to it. Can it be saved?
