“The normal changes into the monstrous, the fortunate into the unfortunate, and our bewilderment goes on and on. And so the wise shape without cutting, square without sawing, true without forcing. They are the light that does not shine.” — Lao Tzu: Tao Te Ching, Ursula K. Le Guin

A large gray tabby is reclining on top of a round, beige-carpeted, cat tower in front of a window, which is dominated by a large shrub approaching tree size. It has shades of gold, green, and orange flaming from the autumn season. The cat has mostly closed eyes with their back to the window, backlit but the bright whiteness of his throat and jaw fur lending a majesty to his presence. One white tipped front paw is hanging off the side of the cat tower, while a rear foot with a long white stick is visible under that leg.

A large gray tabby with a white throat and paws is clasping those around a smaller cat, soft gray with cream and orange mixed in patches and swirls, who is getting the back of her neck groomed by the bigger cat while they share a sky blue daybed.

Rhiannon getting into the Halloween mood. #TheDivineQueen #HalloweenKitty #Halloween #HalloweenCat #CatsofBlueSky #Cat #Cats #Humane #Rescue

Two rocky mountaintops appear a landing place for a gray tortie kitten on a tiger striped blanket, a small crow perched on one of her rear feet. Two paws are overlaid on a golden designe that she, the crow, and the blanket are resting on.

A dilute tortoiseshell cat is sprawled in her haunches, with one cream and orange rear foot held up in the air. The other rear foot is possessively laid upon a small black clothes hanger. She rests on a blue star quilt with yellow accents, while the background is replaced by trees.

Movers coming. Closed this door (first time) because of cat sleeping inside. A shortish one, as in a fairy tale. Would not unlock. Broke out the panel someone had gotten halfway done. Cats think it's a feature. #LouTheCreamfilledCat #MondayMotivation #CatsofBlueSky #Cats #Rescue

Light wood frames a place where an old, dark door has a panel missing, leading to a wood plank floor and a bright window. In between, a big gray tabby cat stares with golden eyes through the opening in the door.

NEW POST! Getting the Band Back Together | Way of Cats www.patreon.com/wayofcats/po... Everyone is glad it's over and think we have an upgrade. Except our foolish lad, Bud Abbott. His mind is blown. #BudBudTheSpud #MovingHell #CatsofBlueSky #Cat #Cats #Humane #Rescue

A long gray tabby cat, his golden eyes with large pupils indicating a worried look under the M of his tabby brows, is lying on a beige & gray berber carpet, on a staircase painted gray, with his rear legs and tail out of frame. Beyond the square railings and below in the darkness, objects can vaguely be perceived.

A photo of an island with many shades brightly colored orange, yellow, and red trees. They are bunched among taller evergreens, on an island. The water in front is too rippled for a good reflection. Above and beyond the island great masses of clouds, bright on one side and dark grayon the other, are piling up to loom over the autumn foliage, intensifying the color of every leaf.

Teen time, Bud and Lou. Starting to differ in appearance and builds. #BudBudTheSpud #LouTheCreamfilledCat #Caturday #BondedPair #CatsofBlueSky #Cat #Cats #Humane #Rescue

On a rich red, suede textured, blanket, a long angular, gray tabby cat has his long forelegs extended, his triangular head with triangular ears buried in the soft folds. Behind him, a bigger and more muscular gray tabby, with abundant white shirtfront and socks, has one rear foot planted on the slimmer cat‘s waist, while the rest of him is snoozing, his white-toed front paws folded in front of his face.

On a plank floor painted gray, a gray tabby with white socks and front toes looks up from a meal, licking his chops with a broad pink tongue. In the background there’s gardening pots in earthy colors and little dust brushes.

On a white rug with dark braided lines, a white cabinet with an access opening shaped like a wide doorway looks inviting and has a green tropical plant and some folded white towls atop it. There's a larger cabinet on wooden legs partly in the picture. (

The litter devices on legs are new. Rhiannon took the 3rd box, a manual sifter she used since arriving. I translated as, "Let Bud ride it, first." That's authentic Victorian wallpaper, I told her. She was not amused. #TheDivineQueen #ThursdayThoughts #CatsofBlueSky #Cat #Cats #Humane #Rescue

A small dilute tortoiseshell cat is studying a clear tray in front of an automatic litter box, a rounded white cube on four round gray legs, with a gray drawer underneath. Another is along a different wall in the same corner, which has peeling Victorian wallpaper in light blue with diagonal quilting lines in dark blue, with pink and white roses on a bush as a repeating pattern. A smaller, greener, manual litter box is at the end, on a plank floor painted gray.

Upon a blue paisley seating cube, a small dilute tortoiseshell cat is curled up, sleeping. Her paws are drawn inward, except for one rear foot, in cream and orange, with all pink toe beans. That one peeks out from her belly, as though it knows it is the star of the show.

Two gray tabby cats are lying on a bed with blue and white bedding, in front of a lowered white venetian blind. Their haunches are touching, the one on the left is also touching the slightly bigger cat who otherwise looks similar, with his back to the lens, looking sleepily over his shoulder, a gold and brown pillow propping him up.

#SilentSunday

A tranquil pond in the foreground reflects autumn trees and a blue sky full of white fluffy clouds, lit at the top and darker on the bottom. It doubles the number of trees as reflections, with a deeply red tall maple on the left, and golden and orange further away as the pond curves in a circle, with taller evergreens predominating, deeper into the forest. A tall, long-dead, tree has fallen so the truck is above the water surface, while the rest of it tapers off into the water.
