"In another video (screenshot below), at least two migrants are seen wearing a black-and-yellow backstrap resembling a piece of the WRAP device, a full body straitjacket used to restrain migrant passengers deemed 'unruly.'"

@paulaerizanu.bsky.social @cristiancantir.bsky.social I don’t know if you can shed any light on what is going on by our Kremlin-aligned government here?

To be pronounced the way Murrkans do for “homage” - a perfectly ordinary English word - to make it sound more portentous?
For the past week or so there have been internet instabilities that have made me wonder if we're on the cusp of another major outage.
In a new blog post, I review the first chapter of a new book on #covidorigin, Steven Quay's "The Code as Witness". The book opens with an impossible anecdote, and I also show that its claim of an early cluster at an Army hospital in Wuhan is unsupported.
Fact-checking Steven Quay’s “The Code as Witness”
Since 2020, Steven Quay, aka DrQuayTM, has been publishing documents claiming to have found damning evidence for a lab leak origin of COVID-19. He was even invited to testify before the Committee on H...

One reason why even a relatively small region like "West-Central Africa" cannot be considered a single Culture Area or Cultural Sphere is the sheer size of Africa Imagine a study of "Western culture" that includes everything from Portugal to Belarus to Turkey Yet that's just two African states
It's important to keep this in mind when you come across a map of pre-colonial West-Central Africa

A few people have asked me to write a simple explainer about chronic inflammatory conditions like autoimmunity or allergy so here is an immunology 101 about what we understand about why they occur. Will dig into more research studies in a future post. Hope u enjoy

Excess mortality by region during the heat event of June (weeks 25-27) are now really essentially final (I added Berlin and Hamburg which were missing so far) Worst hit: Île-de-France, Saarland and Rheinland-Pfalz No excess: Schleswig-Holstein and Provence-Alpes Côte-Azur 1/
Before anyone feels triggered "No excess in Provence is thanks to high A/C prevalence" A/C certainly helps and Provence has a higher prevalence But the data here is no QED: Provence was also spared the ultra-heat so the data leaves it open to two potential reasons for no excess 2/2
Comment 1: What is the method? The deaths actuals are all from official sources (except for Luxembourg where the excess is from an official source) The expected deaths are based on the level expected from the trend in the weeks before the heat and the estimates are my own

On August 5, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is predicted to crash onto the Moon. What has crashed on the Moon before? The very first human object to touch the Moon - Luna 2 in 1959. A probe, 3 bombs, and a rocket body! 🧪 🔭

3 bombs, I hear you ask? The first was a cloud of sodium vapour released the day before so the rocket could be seen, as it was by several observatories. The other two were exploding balls made of silver medallions with Soviet emblems. 🧪 🔭

The rocket bodies from Apollo 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 were all deliberately crashed on the Moon, so the seismometers left by the astronauts could measure what happened. From this data we learnt that the Moon had a crust, mantle and core. 🧪 🔭 #PlanetSci
Moon Composition - NASA Science
The Moon is a differentiated world. This means that it is made of layers with different compositions. The Moon has a core, mantle, and crust.

There are proposals for 'lunar graveyards', locations which can be used to crash orbiters and rocket bodies safely away from places of significant natural or cultural heritage, or habitations and infrastructure. #Falcon9 🧪 🔭
Patches of the moon to become spacecraft graveyards, say researchers
As number of lunar satellites soars, sites will be marked out where defunct hardware can be crash-landed

Spreading lies to stir up fear and hatred. It's long past time that more people saw through the far-right's sickening tactics. Here's a useful burst of truth from @anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu to help.
Vance, Farage and Weidel posted fear-mongering messages about a Spanish migrant crisis that weren't true. They haven't retracted them. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
