One of the things I really struggle with as far as TTRPGs go is Solo TTRPGs. Something about them, I just can’t get a good handle on how to actually sit down and play them in a way that hits what I want from TTRPGs.

I play tabletop games, stream on Twitch, and sometimes talk about important issues. I will never use Generative “AI” or anything similar to that.
There is a large colony of stray cats on my block. Something they have decided to start doing that I have mixed feelings about is killing rats and leaving them in my driveway. With how bad the rat problem is I am glad it’s happening, but they don’t need to leave them in my driveway in display
I am not worried about Universes Beyond for the simple fact that after being a paying customer of D&D for 28 years, I’m done. There might be a couple already released books I want to pick up to round out my collection, but I have no interest in anything new under current management.
I finally found a place that can take pictures in the size I need to move forward with getting Canadian citizenship! 🎉
With Ravenloft: The Horrors Within seemingly being a second edition of Van Richten’s Guide, I think I’d only find it worth it if it was $30 with proof of purchase of Van Richten’s Guide. I bought Van Richten’s Guide years ago, I’m not paying $60 for the same information again with little new.
I grew up in a flavor of Calvinism and one of the oddest influence it’s had on me despite being so many decades removed form it, is how often I forget not everyone knows who John Calvin was. In my mind John Calvin and Martin Luther are on the same level of notoriety.
My new job is super into gen “AI” and it’s been something I am not ok with (but ya boy gots to eat), so today I was assigned to audit the “AI” and that has made me happier than a pig in shit. Not only do I get to do data analysis, BUT I get to do it to prove “AI” is a shit product.
It always costs more to test who "deserves" something and only give it to them, then to just give it to everyone, no matter what "it" is.
Opposition to universal programs is a neoliberal brainworm. IDGAF if "well-off kids" get free lunch and neither should you. www.seattletimes.com/opinion/edit...
I think I have found the words to explain why I dislike the term "Late Stage Capitalism" so much. It lends a sense of inevitability to the situation we are in. And if its inevitable, then the myriad of people who pushed us here were just playing a part that must be played, not being evil.
I’ve realized I do like brutal and unforgiving games. But brutal and unforgiving like Morrowind, not like Dark Souls. Not games that hate you, games that present you a world and nothing more.
I am finding that a lot of the actually anti-"AI" discourse is falling into the same marketing bs that the pro-"AI" discourse has. Everyone keeps using words like "think" or "decide." Giving these text predictors agency. LLMs don't think or decide, they don't have an inner life.
After a few days of thinking about it, I think I know what I think about the WHCD incident. I don’t think it was an inside job, but also it, on paper, advances Trump’s agenda in several ways. There were lots of things out of the norm for this one that all created the space for this incident.
As someone who grew up Dutch Reformed and turned away from religion 30 years ago, it’s really weird siding with the Pope against the leaders of my country. The Right has been trying really hard to make me pro-Pope for at least a decade now.
There is a lot of talks about American conservative "Catholics recently so I will share my story about that. While I was raised Dutch Reformed, part of my family is Irish Catholic. Early in the days of Pope Francis I pointed out to some of them that disagreeing with the Pope is heresy.
I am sick of getting automated responses to putting in applications places that include the line "you're welcome to reach out about details in your work or education history you'd like us to consider, such as transferable skills and experience." Its on my resume, read it.
First entry in a new(ish) project is finally finished. a bit over 6,200 words. Not sure if I should call it a chapter in a book much like some novels use "book" as a way of splitting the novel up, or if I should just call it an entry in a chapter.
I know I have like ten more games to talk about to catch up on my TTRPG thread, but guys, I’m not going to talk about TTRPGs today. I don’t know if the president of my country has fully gone insane or if he’s so addled that someone else is using his social media. Either way it’s bad.
For most of my entire adult life Congress has been portraying itself as this helpless powerless body. And that portrayal has been 100% the Republicans. It doesn’t matter if it’s Republicans obstructing EVERYTHING against Obama or Biden or if it’s just rubber stamping Trump.
I called your office this morning and was told congress would be responding when you "get back to session." Are we fine with just- letting Trump do this cause you all are on vacation? What is going to make congress actually act? This is a war crime, he is unfit for office, DO YOUR JOB.
There are no words I can put into a social media post to properly condemn how evil and deranged this is. Trump is threatening that “a whole civilization will die tonight.” That’s a war crime. Full stop. [1/3]
I've been thinking about algo speech, and I can't stand the people who say "Let's Go Brandon." I would respect you more if you just said "Fuck Joe Biden." I'd disagree with you, but at least you would be saying what you mean not hiding behind cute words that we all know what you mean. Just say it.
The song that makes me the happiest is without a doubt Call of Magic the theme to Morrowind. I have been playing that game off and on for 24 years now.
Something that seems to not be realized at the national level, Oregon has neither the infrastructure nor polling machines to have in person elections. Oregon got rid of in person voting in 1998. We also have the highest turnout out with over 60%. 1/2
You know what? Let’s do this. I’ll talk about one TTRPG in my library for every like.
1 like = 1 TTRPG in my library Why not! I never do these. (And quote this, #ttrpysky. I also want to know what's in your TTRPG library!)
I am really tired of job postings that say they are remote and then list a city where it’s required to be. You are either remote or you aren’t.

Far too many Americans consider voting a privilege or a right. It’s not. It’s a burden that comes in exchange for living in a democratic society and it is the job of everyone burdened with the franchise to be informed and vote from that place of information.
There are two types of stories that I keep coming back to as ones I want to explore in game or TTRPGs. And thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever actually set a campaign in a way to tell either of the stories. I’m really interested in the start of coinage and the day after the big announcement.
I am live! Tonight I am going to try out solo play with TTRPGs for the first time ever. We are going with the game Ironsworn. I am excited to see how this goes. Come hang out at twitch.tv/waywornwyrm #TTRPG

LLMs are the most God of the Gaps thing I have ever seen. The less you know, the more impressive they seem.
The single memory from high school I will remember until the day that I die is as follows. World History class, we had a sub almost the entire term. Teacher comes back and On June 6th 1944 an American army landed on a beach outside the city of Normandy France. 1/2
