In #Sheffield, over 10,000 children were hospitalised owing to breathing problems last year. Over 2,000 were under 3 years old. Thanks to our new Sheffield group for gathering outside the Children's Hospital to highlight these shocking figures - so much more action is needed across the country.

Although the oil and emissions in Jackdaw are small beer, the reason we are in this mess with the climate is that each marginal extraction and emission is small beer. It's a collective action problem and we are failing and lose our leverage with others if we signal our indifference.

This is truly pathetic from Ministers. Labour’s claim to more than 27 new Jackdaw jobs doesn’t hold up. The green economy is >£100bn a year and growing fast. There is no future in fossil fuels. The Government knows this, but chooses profit for Shell over protecting our climate.

🇺🇦🇺🇸 Zelensky to U.S. lawmakers: We offered that we could stop striking Russian oil refineries for 30 days, and in return, we would expect America to help us to protect our skies for those same 30 days. That would be fair, but we have not heard any willingness to help with this option either.

Only 3.5% of the world’s ocean is currently fully or highly protected and experts warn that it could take 265 years just to protect 30% of the ocean under the existing rate of progress. Creating sanctuary networks could help meet the target and protect key migratory species like whales and turtles.

The energy transition has evolved from a developed-world to a developing-world story. Using Ember data, @gavinjmaguire.bsky.social shows the Global South has spent more on Chinese electrotech than the rest of the world combined since 2024, including grid components, HVAC, solar, EVs, & batteries.

The US and Israeli war against Iran has been the big energy story in 2026, but the quiet retooling of power grids from Lagos to Manila may prove to be of greater significance in the long run. www.reuters.com/commentary/r...

We’re living in a time where you can work 40 hours a week, eat at home, barely go anywhere, and STILL be broke before payday… We’re not even living anymore, just working to survive, and the government doesn’t give a damn. Mad yet?! Good, now go VOTE! 😎🇺🇸✨

Ukrainians again had no advance warning as ballistic missiles were raining down as Starlink continues to be restricted. And the U.S. has not delivered Patriot interceptors that Europe has paid for. Is anyone in Congress home? Are they ok with helping Russia kill Ukrainians?

Trump Leaves Ukraine Without Advance Missile Warnings and Restricts Starshield as Russia Escalates Deadly Attacks

Trump officially supports Russia's invasion of Ukraine, placing the US squarely on the side of Russia vs Europe. Accepts talks about Ukraine with China and Russia, which would exclude Ukraine. "Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much."

Putin has proposed talks with Trump & Xi in China to negotiate Ukraine’s future without Ukraine. The proposal follows Trump's decision to ease Russian diesel sanctions, waive congressional sanctions and pressure Kyiv to halt strikes on Russian refineries.
