I recently noticed in my dissertation that Word was using Co-Pilot to generate alt-text of the charts/maps, with a tag that they were AI generated.

A recent essay scored 17%. She questioned what the AI thought was AI, since she hadn’t used it. The answer: the uni-issued cover page showing student ID, faculty etc. 🤦🏻♂️
Not sure why she thinks it’s a defence that she personally does not consume the output that disqualifies him from office

The main point of a holiday is so you can sit in another lounge watching your kid watch on TV a cartoon scientist transplant his brain into a pickle to avoid family therapy.
These could have saved lives in Ukraine instead of being part of a strategic catastrophe in the ME.

It seems like we're nearly at the inflection point where the models are as good as human domain experts, and soon may well be better. Is that discourse only happening on twitter?

Good piece. A thread on some comments I made yesterday on Times Radio. Two things can be true at the same time: 1. It’s very bad to have 60,000 people storm a border, and 70+ deaths. 2. European leaders' responses were opportunistic and disproportionate, and made incidents like this more likely.

It is quite strange how little the actual public inquiry we're having into the UK's Covid response - the one that's publishing in-depth reports every few months - factors into the "you're not even allowed to ask these questions" complaints. We are, in fact, officially asking these questions!
